[Well, this wasn't supposed to be where he ended up. Not to say he was upset by it. Mildly confused and disappointed, maybe. Since his very recent arrival he'd already managed to free himself, disguise himself as a human, and discover his journal. By now he's been watching you for a short time, residents of Paradisa. Though at this point watching consisted of no more than flipping through mortal prattle in the journal and gaining an assessment of the most recent events. People missing, mirrored nonsense, nothing apparently relevant here as none of it seemed to answer what questions he had. Though he has been questioning the strange content filling itself out on a certain page around this time.

In fact, the journal seemed rather chaotic about now. Probably best to hold onto it for later. Instead Loki settled for making the most of his newfound freedom and looking around what appeared to be the interiors of... Well, what was this place?]

Barton ducks behind a sofa, out of sight of the staircase Loki was coming down. He opens his flight case, removing his bow and an arrow from his quiver before peeking around to confirm his suspicions.]

[The last week had, quite simply, sucked for Hank. His most recent loss had probably been the most humiliating thing he'd ever had to endure.

Stomping through the hallways to God knows where - maybe he'd check out that Danger Room thing - he doesn't stop to acknowledge Loki's existence.]

[You didn't think he wouldn't notice, would you? Mm. Perhaps he didn't. If he did notice, he's pretending not to. Loki continued his way down the stairs, apparently set on making his way around.]

[Of course he isn't that naïve. It doesn't mean he's going out in the open. Not just yet. Arrow notched, listening to Loki's footsteps, keeping the layout in his mind, the location of the target...

Deep breath...

And he pops out, loosing an arrow, before diving for another sofa, drawing another arrow as he does.]

[Have a space marine in full armor. She's got her helmet tucked under her arm and just generally looks pissed. She spares a glare at Loki.]

[But Loki notices him, of course. The man... Or whatever he was, was difficult to miss by any means. His eyes follow him briefly, as if trying to determine something, but he shook his head when he decided that he didn't very much care.] You. Mechanic creature.

[and here's a blue pony who's closer to the size of a horse than a pony. There's a distracted air about her as several books trail after her like ducklings. Magical ducklings shaped like books. Probably.]

[Well, have an unfazed Loki in return. No, he's not even curious about your unusual looking armor, lady. The most he'll give her is a bored look, not deemed worth his time unless she has useful information for him. And she looked more prepared for battle than giving out information. He'd keep this in mind for later, though.]

[Stops, and sighs audibly. Had it been any other occasion he would've ignored this person... but he was new. Or at least Hank hadn't seem him before.

Doesn't mean his mood was about to improve.]

[A... Horse? What did a horse have use for books? Actually, he's a little confused after all, as he had never come into contact with such a creature before. He doesn't get in her way, but rather steps aside as she goes by and plucks one of said books from the little duckling trail behind her.]

[She tilts her head at him. If there's something she hated more then attention when she didn't want it, it was being ignored altogether.]

What. You ready for a costume party or did you just step out of Fairyland or something?

[it's a physics book, and it looks like it's about the properties of light, reflection, refraction, and images.

She stops and turns around when he takes her book.] Excuse me. I would be greatly appreciative if thou wilt return mine book.

[There was a sigh of irritation from this end. He was making this difficult, wasn't he? The demigod made a fast step aside in time, eyes following it. He learned from his mistakes-- this one wasn't about to go off in his face, or hand for that matter. But by the looks of it, that arrow confirmed it. But what was he doing here of all things? He was fairly sure he'd left the archer behind with the rest of them. Loki looked to where he assumed the archer had dropped next.] Isn't it a universal concept that firing at strangers is unwelcome?

[Curiosity gets the better of Nepeta once again as she spots him during his walk around the castle. It almost looks like he's looking for something. She'll become his little shadow and walk behind him, looking in all the places he's looking, too.]

[Where he assumed, yes. But Barton is a skilled spy, good at moving unnoticed. And, demi-god or not, Barton knows the lay of the land...

He pops up, an arrow flying from Loki's left side.]

You know me. Not a stranger.

[Good, he had his attention.] I assume you are of average intelligence, correct? [It was rhetorical of course, and holding back from being entirely dripping with distaste at having to communicate with him.] I need you to confirm a few things and then I'll be done with you.

[Five's making his way back to his room from the library, when he sees the stranger, and smiles, giving him a cheerful wave]

Afternoon.

Fairyland? Not likely. [Wherever this Land of Fairies was, it wasn't where he had been. More like Land of Giants. Or Land of Being Smashed Into Structures.] And this isn't a costume, I assure you.

Oh, so it's got a function? Please tell me what that is.

[He turned it over in his hands a bit. This was a bit-- Oh. He would have understood it anyway, but the horse was speaking in a tongue he wasn't expecting. Common. A curious animal after all. He holds it back, not returning it quite yet, perplexed.] I see. Are all the mares here partial to reading?

[Hank's first instinct is deck this guy in the schnozz... but the haughtiness, the arrogance.

Not everyone is as they seem to be in Paradisa. If Hank's hunch is right, then this person might - might - just be Eschaton material.]

[It... Actually takes him a few moments to realize he's being tailed at first. He comes to an abrupt stop in his exploration when he makes this discovery and turns to the girl with a mix of irritation and interest. Or was she supposed to be a cat?] What do you think you're doing, small creature?

I daresay some of us enjoy the pursuit of knowledge more than others. However, I can only speak for those of my world.

[Was this supposed to be a normal greeting? He hesitates before giving an uncertain mirror of the gesture.] Afternoon.
