She had gone again and again and again and again. She'd gone so many times it felt like her intestines weren't attached and they would shatter.

But they all left, they left over and over. She had left. Left and returned (how many things had she forgotten how many places had she abandoned) no matter what she did.

There was no way for her to see the Stillness. No way than to become what would kill her.

She couldn't keep leaving, not when it made her dust.

So she came back to the castle, toes trailing behind her as Del tried (tried tried tired trying) to make the puzzle that became her world to be a picture of sails and water and fish]

It goes... sh sh sh sh... what is the... did you know that if you don't whisper a word the world will give you everything.

[Of course, Jono had noticed when Billie had gone back to...wherever it was that the children went when they weren't in the castle. He'd been trying his best to ignore it, burying himself in training, and writing a training program for his young protege. Del might hear the faint hum of the machinery and computers in the Danger Room behind his voice.]
