[To be fair, Stefan hadn't been in the castle in a while, but Damon leaving seemed to be a rather new event and given the situations he'd put himself into -- she felt that it was important to notify people that he was gone.]

To those that knew the Salvatore brothers, they've both returned to Mystic Falls.

[Yes, Paradisa, your castle is now down two vampires. Normally, Katherine would leave it at that -- but her current attempt at being a part of this community is allowing herself those moments to actually care about the people she has to tolerate being here with. Some, she cares about more than others, but an effort is still going to be made.]

Which brings me to a rather important announcement. [She's still slightly unsure this is the best plan, but the choice she made to allow her emotions in has given her a lot of things to be unsure about. Which isn't something she's used to feeling at all.]

With the Salvatores leaving, I am the last vampire of my kind here in the castle. [To those that have met her, that have spoken with her, most of them have been unaware of this about her. She's only recently told a handful of people first -- simply because she didn't want this to be the method they found out the truth. Giving them the advantage of her trust, should prove beneficial.]

I'm aware that the castle likes to take advantage of those who are different and put them into situations where they could harm others. I have spoken to a lot of you about your desires to be able to protect the castle from yourself. While, I'm not about to list the details of what I am in a place that will record it forever -- I am still more than willing to answer any questions you might have about me and my specific type of vampirism.

My academy is intended to educate and so that's where I'll be having my... impromptu lecture. [She'll jot down the location of her academy. It's in the city, in the old Talbot/Hammer mansion from the Spanish Telenovela plot.]

If you'd prefer to meet with me one on one, I'd be glad to do that today. Tomorrow, at one in the afternoon, I'll be holding a very honest conversation about the vampires of my world. What are Vampires?

Vampires, in general, are people who ingest blood for survival over food. There are a few different types here in the castle, all with different nuances for their habits and behavior when it comes to that survival.

[ Whoa whoa. Lana had known about Stefan by now, and was unsure how to feel about it, but Damon? That's like a ton of bricks. She should have known, should have been looking harder, but she had been spending that energy avoiding him.

Suddenly it doesn't feel worth it. Katherine's sudden philanthropic attitude is only making this more surreal and strange. ]

...You're so kind to let everyone know.

It felt appropriate. [Damon was always so kind to warn people about her, why not return the favor.]

[ And muddled in with her school plugging, no less... Although they probably didn't deserve more. Again, there are mixed feelings. So she just ends up making a disgusted sound and closing the journal so she can go take time to process.

Maybe she'll check out Katherine's 'school' sometime, but not today. ]

[ What? What? She had not heard from Damon in some time, but she never expected--

Without warning there is a loud crash in the background, followed by another. She says nothing, anger and frustration dictating her actions. Morgana was fond of him (still is) and to lose him now of all times...

It hurts and that hurt twists into anger; the emotion she far more adept at dealing with right now. ]

You admit you're a vampire in once sentence, then ask to meet people one-on-one in the next. How gullible do you think people are?

I've been meeting people in private since I arrived here and I haven't done anything to make someone fearful of being alone with me.

If no one wants to come, they don't have to.

It could be that you put them all under your control after meeting them.

If you want to believe that, it's your choice. I'm sure it's comforting to be able to simply distrust everyone.

[ She's heard of vampires recently, from Zelman, and he was kind, so that reflects well on Katherine as well. ]

[Katherine laughs a bit.]

[He'd been on good terms with Stefan, but didn't know he had a brother -- so that's one bit of new news.

And the other bit -- well. He'll just show up to the lecture and lurk. As best he can, anyway, for a huge red guy. Because despite how kind Stefan turned out to be, he still didn't really trust vampires. At all.]

How honest is honest?

It's as honest as you believe it to be. I can't exactly guarantee that you'll trust what I say, now can I?

No. That's true. And I can't guarantee you won't leave anything out.

Given what I've seen happen to some who are less than forthcoming in this castle, I'd prefer to be as helpful as possible.

[Lilah's only barely settled into being out of the mirror world, but the news of the Salvatores being gone is nothing short of a relief. Considering everything Damon put her through, there was never going to be ease there.]

Well, at least now we won't have to worry about Damon's suspicions.

True. And he didn't have a stellar reputation, all things considered.
