Messing with Ghosts

[An acquaintance suggested to the Master that he might be able to get the castle's attention by threatening the ghostly servants. The Master isn't sure they can be threatened, but he's willing to exhaust any angle, until he is successful. The ghosts are as much of a mystery as anything else. If they are truly spirits, he wants to know who they used to be. So, the Master has set up a bunch of equipment in the lobby, close to the staircase leading to the fourth floor. First, he's going to try and discover what the ghosts are, then he'll work on capturing one.]

[Wyoming's new around here, so he's out exploring and finding good hiding places.

When he reaches the lobby and sees all this equipment lying around, he can't help but be curious. So now he's cautiously moving closer to get a better look. ]
What's all this...

[traken_master]

This is scientific equipment. [The Master answers distractedly, barely looking up.] What do you know about the servants in this place?

[knock_knock]

[His eyebrow is inching upwards under his helmet. That is the most descriptive description ever. Of all time.]
What kind of science?

The servants? Not more than what I've been told. I'm a little new to this place, I'm afraid.
[And considering his sources, he'd rather judge for himself a little more. Relying on someone you'd killed for information is not a safe way to conduct yourself under any circumstances.

I take it you're studying them. Find anything useful so far, mate?

All kinds. Physics, biology, if the ghosts have one, chemistry, mathematics...whatever is useful. I'm rather new here myself, I'm afraid, and few people seem to possess any useful information. I'm really just getting started, but they don't seem to be entirely corporeal.

That's quite a mix, mate.
[Wyoming's assuming you're a scientist of some kind. A scientist with a really broad range of study. You definitely have his attention, good sir.]
They've been described as ghosts, so no- I wouldn't imagine they would be.

Well, those are the obvious disciplines to start with. Before coming here, I would have scoffed at the very idea of ghosts. This place is, however, rather extraordinary and I've found my definition of reality challenged. Still, I'd rather have proof that they are "ghosts."

[knock_knock]

[What other discipl -oh, right. Alternate universes. With Magic. Not to say that he believes in it all entirely yet, but he's getting there.]
Do you have any idea what else you'll be trying should this not work? It seems like the basics might not be specific enough to me.

I'm still not entirely convinced that they are ghosts, myself. Perhaps they are being projected?
[Considering he has an AI on him who is capable of photographically projecting that theory isn't so far out there.]

[The Master, sadly, doesn't possess magic, but there are other branches of science that he hasn't exhausted yet.]

That is a possibility, but if they are projections, they must carry the projector with them. I have found no source for them and they go everywhere.

If this doesn't work, then I will return to my research on the history and nature of both the castle, the town, and the people who live on this world.

Perhaps the projectors are more well hidden than we'd realized, mate.
[He searched his room and he definitely didnt find anything, but if the technology is way past what he knows then could it be smaller than he knows to look for?]

You've already been studying that? I don't suppose you'd be willing to collaborate would you?

I've swept the castle for technology more than once. I'm certainly willing to collaborate, if you have anything useful to contribute. What training do you possess?

So that's not it then...

I worked in a special branch of the military before working as a bounty hunter. I have experience in interrogation and also with some computers. I'm rather good at what I do.
[He's totally smirking underneath that helmet.]

[The Master gives him a dry look, shrugging.] Computers might be useful, if the servants are run by a program. I don't see how they can be interrogated, unless captured, but it might be useful to try.
