First Lesson

Alright panda! What did you do this time?

[It had to be Po's fault right? He couldn't just randomly end up somewhere that wasn't the Jade Palace on his own...right?]

If it's not the panda...[Muttering, so much muttering.] Master Oogway! Did you do this? Is this some sort of lesson? [Please don't let this be a lesson about the panda. Don't tell him it's about the panda. He's had enough of the panda.

Really.]

Master? Please?

[A sigh and then he casually picks up the journal as he heads for the door, not exactly paying attention to where it is he is or going, instead talking reading the journal as he does, ears twitching.

A short, big eared panda is now wandering the castle, occasionally muttering into the journal about how things look different.]

((OOC: Open! All over the castle, the journal etc. And yes hugging/picking up/petting/etc is totally fine :3))

...Panda? Huh?

[DID SOMEONE ELSE GO ON A PANDA LOSS? Please say someone else went on a panda loss.]

[Welp, Aradia's still kind of bummed from earlier, but she's doing a little better. So when she's flying back to her room later on, and sees a little fuzzy dude in the hallway.........]

[here's a blue pony, clip-clopping down the hall and yawning rather widely. And not quite looking at where she's going or if she might be about to trip over a small red panda wearing funny clothes or something like that. Ah, the downfalls of being used to having everypony clear the way for you.]

[No someone else IS a panda. Why couldn't he meet you on your loss bro?

As it stands he momentarily freaks out in the hallway to stare at the journal. Before calming down.

Weirder things in the Jade Palace besides talking books. It's just, you know, new.]

Yes a panda. [Sigh.] A rather large, rather fat, panda that has attempted kung fu. Wears pants, has no shirt on. You know where he is?

[Wow way to be respectful of your student Shifu. He sounds rather bored as he talks about him though.]

[You know he's used to people flying around. So it just gets an ear flick as he walks by, and he raises a hand at her.]

You new here?

[Oh yes it's just some dream and he's really in the Jade Palace. Right?]

--Pandas can do kung fu? Can I get that for the record?

[see guys he told you pandas were awesome!]

That is, I haven't seen any pandas around lately. Especially not ones wearing pants.

[She lands and raises an eyebrow.]

I've been here almost fifteen and a half months, so if anyone is new here, it is probably you.

[Oh well then. You know he's used to it himself being a kung fu master and all and frankly? He's not expecting anyone to be around. It's all an entire dream set up by Oogway the crazy turtle to teach him a lesson.

So he's totally heading for the big blue pony and running into her. Oh hi Luna.]

I'm sor - [His reaction stalled as he looks up at her.

Oh you're tall.

And blue can't forget that.]

[Uh what? Of course they can do kung fu. Even a mantis can do kung fu.

So he's rather confused as he peers more at the book.]

Of course pandas can do kung fu. [Such a flat statement.] And you haven't? [He sounds hopeful!] How about a very tall turtle? He would have a staff, speak in riddles. Discovered the secrets of kung fu...[Ringing any bells York?]

[and when something hits her, she automatically shies back, wings flapping and oh. Huh. A red panda.

All four hooves on the floor now:]

My most sincere apologies, sir. I should really pay attention to mine surroundings.

[More ear flicking and he finally looks up at her.

And stares.

Lots of staring and one of his ears flattens out and he just sort of points at her.]

You're...

To be completely honest with you, I haven't seen anyone doing kung fu since we got here. Can't say I've seen any turtles around, either. Pretty sure we've got some dragons?

But if you're serious about pandas doing kung fu, that's totally awesome.

[And he's totally backing up at that, clutching the journal to his chest. Normally he'd ready himself to fight but she looks nice. For the moment.

So he's just staring. Wings, and is that a horn? And she's blue.

What did Oogway give him?]

It's, perfectly alright. My fault entirely miss, I was just looking at the book and...[Yes he's holding the journal up now looking all confused red panda like.] And well frankly I'm rather confused as to what's going on.

Really? [He sounds so disapproving at that and then his voice totally goes flat.]

Of course he would do that. He wouldn't be hear and instead give me dragons and a talking book. [He really hates his master right about now.]

And of course I'm serious! Everyone can learn kung fu! From the lowliest mantis to the tallest crane! Except for the panda. [And the way he emphasizes on the word it's rather obvious he has issues there.

[On some random corridor because it's 2 am and I don't want to think that hard......

There's a 17-year-old girl up and about, who may also may or may not exactly be explicitly paying attention to where she's going. (A 17-year-old girl with a bow and a quiver of arrows. This may be important to mention.) Who knows what sorts of wonders she could run into.]

Guessing that means you're new here. Welcome to Paradisa.

[But of course, then his tone loses the irony.] Right. So let's say you had an awesome, physically fit panda who didn't wear pants. You could teach them kung fu. Oh, and his amazing buddy the red panda, too.

That is so kickass.

[Yeah he's new. Or at least has never run into something like her before. But she is so used to weirding people out just by existing, it's just second nature how to respond.]

I'm a troll. What're you?

[whatever it was, it was obviously filled with friendship. And rainbows.

Hmm.] Then I shall assume thou art new.

This is Cair Paradisa. [she gestures to the surrounding area with a wing] It - or somepony working through the castle - seemeth rather fond of taking creatures from their own realms. However, I cannot divine its purpose or if there even is a goal.

[Oh that's good because Shifu loves random corridors man, best thing to walk down!

There's a little ol' red panda walking down the corridor herp a derp his nose in the journal and totally looking like some giant thing to kill. Or rather an over size raccoon.

Just red and carrying a journal and dressed all funnily.

What do Katniss? WHAT DO?]

[Paradisa say what?

But nope no they're talking about pandas. Which is obviously more interesting then you know the name.]

Of course I can! I myself learned kung fu from the greatest master of them all and I am a red panda! I am the teacher of the Furious Five the greatest warriors in all of China!

So thank you. Even if it is perfectly normal for such creatures to learn, thank you.

[Both actually but he'll get used to it eventually. Give an old panda some time.

He draws himself up to give her the sternest look possible.]

I'm a red panda. Just where do you come from?

[And she squats down to accommodate his vertically-challenged-ness, resting her arms on her knees.]

My planet's called Alternia. That's not where we are though, this is Paradisa. The castle and town and continent and world are all called that.

[It's at that moment that Katniss spots something walking down this corridor that should not be walking down this corridor. Some kind of creature she's never seen before. And not only that? It's wearing clothes.

She freezes, studying. Wary.

What do? There's only one obvious answer to that question.

An arrow is locked and loaded faster than you can say, "Mutt!" And soon flies in the general direction of this... thing.]

[Wyoming's a bit new himself, so he's been busy exploring the castle and in general finding out more information. ~~and also avoiding people from home.~~

When he hears Shifu muttering while around a corner in a random hallway he puts a hand on his pistol and takes a quick look to see- oh. Looks like that probably won't be necessary. Still, what are you?]

Well. You're certainly not what I'd expected.

[Here's a guy with a ridiculous accent in white suit of armor, Shifu.]

[And peaches. He can't ever get away from the peaches.

Uhuh. Luna you're about as easy to figure out as Oogway. Except maybe a little better as at least you don't hand out cryptic wisdom.]

Cair Paradisa. [Give him a second to look around before giving you the flatest look a panda can give someone.]

So this is just some, mystical building that took us from our homes? [He sounds like he's taking this seriously.]
