Episode 87

[spongetastic]

[Peter has decided to write; this whole thing has weirded him out and he doesn't trust his voice]

Those figures in the courtyard. I think I know one of them. I think that samurai is a friend of mine. I recognize the symbol on his sword.

That's what I figured, too. I'm just wondering what we're supposed to be celebrating. [she pauses] of course, it's pretty close to the Chinese New Year.

I'd love to. I'll be down in a few minutes.

Phoebe

[spongetastic]

Is it? I don't really know much about that.

I'll be waiting by the samurai.

Peter/Action

[kungfuwitch]

Yeah. I lived in Hong Kong for a little while so I learned a lot about it.

[In a few minutes she walks out the castle doors, hands tucked in the pockets of the snazzy leather coat Felix gave her for Christmas. She smiles when she sees Peter, walking up to him]

Hey, you.

[spongetastic]

Hi. [takes her hand, guiding her to the masked samurai] Phoebe, this is my friend Hiro Nakamura. [Peter has decided it's Hiro. So there] He doesn't speak, but I'm sure it's him.

[kungfuwitch]

[She gives his hand a squeeze, smiling at him before looking at Hiro]

I didn't know you were friends with a samurai.

[spongetastic]

I've met all kinds of people back home. Hiro's actually the one who helped me become a hero in the first place. He's a great man.

[he bows to the samurai, who bows back]

[kungfuwitch]

[Phoebe bows as well, smiling as she watches the samurai respond in kind]

He did? How did he do that? [She smiles at Peter, letting go of his hand to wrap an arm around his waist]

[spongetastic]

Well... He can travel through space and time. A Hiro from the future came to me and told me I could save the world. All I had to do was save a cheerleader.

[puts an arm around her. These are good memories]

If it wasn't for Hiro, I never would've met Claire, and I wouldn't be standing here right now.

[kungfuwitch]

Save a cheerleader and save the world. That's certainly a different one. Was Claire the cheerleader?

[She smiles up at Hiro] I suppose I should thank you, then.

[spongetastic]

Yeah, she was. Of course I didn't know anything about her at the time. Just that I needed to save her.

[the samurai seems pleased with Phoebe's words and gives a modest little gesture]

[kungfuwitch]

You didn't know she was your niece?

[spongetastic]

No. I was only a kid when she was born, and my parents covered it up. My family has a habit of burying things like that.

[kungfuwitch]

[She nods] I know what that's like. We didn't even know Paige existed until a few years ago... after Prue died.

[spongetastic]

[Peter doesn't really know what to say to that, so he just squeezes her hand in a comforting way]

[kungfuwitch]

But it doesn't matter if we know them from the day they're born or later in life. They're family. [she smiles at Hiro.] And the people who help bring us together are just as important.

[spongetastic]

[again the samurai bows, like he's agreeing with her]

I'm glad you got to meet him. Maybe some day he'll be in the castle for real.

[kungfuwitch]

[She grins, returning that bow]

Maybe. It would be nice to be able to talk to him and for him to actually talk back.

[spongetastic]

I think you two would like each other.

[kungfuwitch]

Maybe someday I'll get a chance. [She leans into him, giving him a kiss on the cheek]
