[Lloyd's tone is decidedly different today-- quiet and intense on the edges. It's appropriate for someone who is, well, grieving.]
If anyone needs some woodwork done, I'm open. [He really needs something to keep his hands occupied...] I'll consider requests for other materials, depending on what it is. Prices are negotiable. Just let me know what you want and we'll talk about it.

Hey, are you too busy for a spar?
[Maybe if he trains to exhaustion, he'll stop looking down to make sure there isn't a dead body laying in his arms.]

Hey, are you too busy for a spar?
[Maybe if he trains to exhaustion, he'll stop looking down to make sure there isn't a dead body laying in his arms.]
Lloyd
You don't have to come back, I could come see you?
Colette;
Uh, but you can come see me. [UGH WHY DOES HE SOUND SO DUMB? WHY CAN'T HE JUST SAY COOL THINGS WHEN COLETTE IS LIKE THIS?]
Lloyd
Okay. Then I'll be there in a little bit.
Colette;
Meet you in the garden. I need some fresh air, anyway.
[Lloyd can be found pretty easily in a garden of flowers. He's the blob of red hunched over a nice park bench, elbows on his knees. He's either depressed or falling asleep. Could be a mixture of both at this point.]
Lloyd
So, she'll walk over and sit down next to Lloyd. And then quickly, gently she reaches over to give him a hug]
action forever;
What they both need.]
... Colette, [he murmurs into her hair.] ... hey.

I'm sorry.
1/3
Stop apologizing-- [He knows exactly why, though, and wills his voice not to crack.] -- you dork.
2/3
I...
3/3
If anyone should be apologizing, it's me. I haven't kept my promise. I haven't found a way off this world.
1/2
2/2
It's okay. You don't have to be sorry either...
[she considers elaborating, but she's thinking right now that fewer word make a stronger statement]

It doesn't change the facts. For once, Lloyd is unable to do the impossible.]
I want to go home.
[He lets out a small scoff, the ghost of a self-deprecating laugh.]
I miss Dad waving to me from the porch. I miss hiking up the hill and seeing the village and being able to tell when someone was baking bread. I miss— I miss everything.
... You miss it too, right?
no subject
Mm hm... I miss the flowers around Iselia, and Genis's cooking.... The school house, the priests, and all the people we met on our journey.
[a soft sigh escapes, and she's quiet for a moment. When she talks again though, her voice sounds genuinely hopeful]
We'll be able to go home. I don't know when, and it might be a really long time... but we will. No one stays here forever.
GOD DAMN IT THIS THREAD
I miss them, too.
[Even in the face of very real, very terrifying death and the reality of the situation, Colette hasn't lost her hope. And neither has Lloyd. He just gets a little tired sometimes. It's okay not to pretend all the time. It's okay to cry, to laugh, to smile, to be angry.
It's okay.
He hugs her a little tighter for a moment, and then pulls back and looks into her eyes.]
We're going home, [he says firmly.] Maybe not right now, but we're definitely going home-- and we're going together. I don't care what anyone says, or how much hell we have to go through to get there.
I'm not leaving you behind.
it's okay Saffy, I didn't need my heart....
But did assuming that... did that mean she didn't believe Lloyd's promise? that thought makes her feel ashamed. How could she doubt Lloyd, after everything?
So.. even though it's scary (twice, he'd gone home. Martel once, Raine once, Sheena once, Zelos more than all of those combined), that hesitation turns to trust. She nods, and smile]
Okay. I believe you, Lloyd.
yeah apparently i didn't either
But Colette is depending on him. Everyone is depending on him, and he can depend on them, too. No one has to suffer this place alone. They can still do something.
His expression softens, and he looks down.]
... A-are you okay now?
no subject
Mm hm. What about you?
no subject
Yeah. [He lets her go, finally.] ... Thanks. [He's not sure why he's thanking her, but he feels like he needs to.]
no subject
So... thank you too, Lloyd.

[with this happy feeling lingering, she goes towards a new topic with more enthusiasm] Has anyone asked you to make anything?
