[No hesitation here, but quietly - restrainedly - hopeful.] You're back?

[Duty done by the journal... Rin is not much of one for brooding on the roof. But somehow she felt like going up top on the castle and spending some time looking quietly out into the distance. She's just sitting right in a wall-nitch, with her feet dangling over the side, hundreds of feet above the grounds and one wrong move from falling off.

Is she worried? No. She has the Justice League ring Brainy gave her, of course, and though the air is chilly she alternates between looking quietly off into the distance and looking at her hands, turning the ring around on her fingers, which are reddening in the cold.

[Ezio, in the meantime, is climbing.

Climbing in the winter is a bitter thing. While he's used to scampering around on rooftops in all weather, it generally doesn't get cold enough in his little parts of the Italian region to ice things. Climbing in gloves doesn't really appeal to him –– it worsens his grip, even if it spares his fingers the wear and tear -- but it seems to be a must in Paradisa.

But why climb at all? There's no view up above that he hasn't seen, or that he can't access with the stairs inside and a window close to the top.

Just because, he supposes.

When he reaches the top (or rather, just the level where the residents often walk the ramparts) Ezio looks up to see a girl sitting on the stone parapets, and finds himself slightly concerned. What's a girl doing sitting up there?

As such, he works his way over in her direction a bit more, though not too close. He doesn't want to spook her, especially when most people wouldn't expect a man to come climbing up the side of the castle without even a rope.

When he gets high enough to grab the lower outer edge of the parapets, he whistles at her to get her attention –– if she hasn't already noticed him, that is.]

I hope you're not planning on jumping, piccina. It's an awful long way to fall.

[Rin blinks, looking up from her hands with a jerk and...

Cue a sloooow eyebrow-raise.

Also, hey. That voice is familiar...]

The man climbing up the sheer castle wall tells me not to jump. I think I'm in a safer position than you are.

Oh, so that's what that madness was about.

Huh.

[he smiles, "letting go" with his feet entirely in favour of just hanging from the stone for a second, before laddering his way up to the top edge and hauling self up, much like someone might pull themselves up out of a swimming pool.]

Ah, but I don't look quite so lost in thought. It's not often people dangle off ledges just to think.

... Are you all right?

[:o hey... that is kind of impressive! She leans out a little more, precipitously far really, to watch him scale the wall. Hum, she knows doing that kind of thing takes strength, even when the people doing it make it look easy.]

... Unless someone gave me a push, I don't think I'm in too much danger. [She says, leaning out into empty space.]

[No, he was worried you'd gone and come back and he'd have to start all over again. Not admitting that though, nope]

Fine. So what do you remember of your little loss adventure.

[he walks along the parapet towards her. It's windier up here than it was against the wall, and he's glad he decided to wear his jacket.]

Then again, I suppose women are more graceful.

[Give her a moment. It was a loss? Processing...]

[... She gives him a bit of a look. Was that flirtation? Ah, it's been so long...

She raises her un-ringed hand to point in his direction.]

Rin! Holy crap, I thought--well. I guess that doesn't matter anymore. Can I still say welcome back?

... Haha. I thought I told you I didn't remember anything.

I'll take a welcome back anyway though.

You're that friend of Stephanie's, no? [Sittin' down on the upper part of the parapet.] We spoke in Paris.

Yeah, well. I'm glad the castle didn't really yo-yo you home and back here again. [There's a 'phew' here.]

That's right. [She looks up at him, leaning against the parapet wall beside her a bit. Hands go back in her lap, folded again.] What's your name again?

... I guess she was pretty different from me, huh?

[Galadriel's not going to go look for her. Rin wasn't in the room, which clearly meant she needed time and space and the elf would respect that.]

I am glad to hear you are once again yourself, charming as you were.

Yeah, but I guess it's understandable seeing as you--she, I mean, was more or less a blank slate when it came to... knowing people, places, things... stuff. Adrift at sea and all that.

Ezio Auditore. [Her name's on the tip of his tongue, but ah, he can't get it. He just grins, leaning back on one hand, eyes on her.] Was it... Fiora? I'm not so good with these foreign names yet.

Mm. I didn't remember anything from before the castle, either. So really at sea.

[Rin sounds... kind of sad. Having no memories was really freeing. A relief in many senses, considering the horrible things that she's witnessed and that have happened to her.]
