[Martel isn't quite sure what to say to him, but she needs to make sure he's all right, even if it does seem if he's ignoring her. She is worried about him. She knows he's still here, he just hasn't been around, and there's a lot of things she needs to tell him.]

...Are you all right? You haven't been around lately at all. You never answered my message earlier this month, either.


[Martel is sitting in the courtyard in a green winter coat she had the Castle magic up for her so she could be outside. Feel free to approach her, though she might be distracted.]

What if I'm too specific, then?

Will it just get annoyed and send me home?

[His tone is slightly exaggerated, indicating he knows that probably won't work.]

I don't think anybody knows anymore what this Castle can or will do. The least you can do is ask nicely. [That usually works with people, then why not with a castle?]

I suppose.

But the universe is an unpredictable thing by default.

This world has a will, just like any other, and chances are it's motivations are far beyond what any of us will understand, until the time comes.

That is true. Sometimes it will help us, sometimes it will hinder us. And nobody will know why until we understand it, and why it brings us here in the first place.

You speak as if you understand the will of a planet far more than the average person.

[In a weird sense, it's almost a question, despite being a statement...he's a little curious but he's not going to ask directly. That isn't his style.]

I don't know anything about this place, really. I only know what people have said, what I've seen while I was here...

[Nah, he believes that.]

What a shame.

[He'll pause for a minute, looking down through the viewfinder on his camera again and start looking around with it.]

I'm Martel. Pleased to meet you, Tsukasa. [She watches him play with his camera.]

Eventually though he'll speak up, but keep his focus on his camera.]

Mind if I ask how long you've been here? I get the stay here isn't permanent, but I'm wondering how long it generally lasts.

Noone really explained much to me aside 'you're stuck here' and 'look out for the talking ponies'. Though...the last one was a bit cryptic to say the least.

I'm actually a bit of a special case. I was here three years ago for a few months, and then the Castle didn't send me home, but sent me to Paris for three years without my memories. I just recently got them back and made it back to the Castle when the Castle became Paris for Christmas.

...My fiance, however, has been here for four years. It depends on the person. Most people don't stay that long.

And I've met one of those ponies. She was actually quite nice.

[He'll pause in silence again; that's...a lot to take in.

What was the point in all of this? He just couldn't wrap his head around it. Any of it, which was weird because usually everything became so clear so soon to him.]

I see.

It's funny how sometimes answers just create more questions.

[She laughs.] I've gotten that response before. I'm not the only one to come back from Paris, though. And this is the first time anybody has ever come back with their memories from a previous stay.

The Castle likes to keep us guessing about its nature.

Oh? First that, and now I show up.

Signs of a coming apocalypse maybe.

[Little chuckle.]

An apocalypse? No, you couldn't cause an apocalypse. [She giggles.]

[Oh if only Martel knew that was so far from the truth.]

Well, I've been told by some my ego is a doomsday device by itself.

I'm certain if I try a little harder I could bring about the end of the world with a little more self-confidence.

Why would you even want to? [She tilts her head, curious.] There are still so many things that you haven't done and need to do. Don't you want to photograph every part of the world? And well, there's so many worlds out there that it's going to take you a long time, isn't it?

Then you can't even possibly think of ending the world yet.

I know you were. But still... it could be possible. If you were really determined. [That is what she's going with.]

...No. You aren't being serious, are you? [Because she's not.] Because wanting to start an apocalypse is a horrible thing to do. [She's already told you her stance on that.]
