[You know... Aradia's friends are right. She can't mope about the past forever, and all the new historical information has pinged her inner archaeologist (which, incidentally, is also her outer archaeologist) so brightly that she can't help feeling a little excited. And more like herself again, even if she feels a tiny bit guilty about feeling better. Feels are complicated.

Thus, she has drawn a colorful crayon sign into the journal, and hung up copies of it all over the castle probably right next to Nepeta's flyers:]

Well, I haven't found a better use for mine yet, so perhaps if we can find a camera of the right type, we'll be able to test it out.

I do. The only possession of mine I seem to have lost is, well, a rather powerful artifact from my home world. I believe the castle's taken it as a secondary permanent loss.

Ohh. I'd heard about that, but it's true? People who come back have a second loss?

It certainly seems that way. Everyone I've spoken to that has returned agrees on that count, unless they suspect it but haven't discovered it yet.

Even so, I'm glad to be back. There are still too many questions here to answer that I'd never find at home.

Do you think so? I don't know. [Slumps a little over the table, letting her arms stretch out across it.] I think I thought that way at first. Like it was a cool sidequest or something. But lately it feels like such a hassle, sometimes. I'm not sure it even has anything to do with life or the nature of the universe.

Well, and who's to say any quest has to do with all of that? But a journey is as much about discovering yourself as it is discovering new information about the world around you. You may learn something new about Paradisa, but you'll almost certainly learn something about yourself.

... That's pretty deep. Is there really that much to know about myself?

There's always more to discover about oneself, no matter how old one becomes.

Then you have the opportunity to learn even more about yourself, I should think. You must be certain not to waste the gift of a long life.
