[ The journals catch the sound of a warning hiss and a frustrated growl. A pattering of feet and yowling follow. For anyone in the ballroom, you'll see a girl with a grumpy looking cat in her arms. She smiles down at it. ]

Told you I could catch you.

Huh? [ Who said—oh, journal's open. She walks to it, still holding the wriggling cat. ] You're the kid who says he's a dragon, right? Spike?

[Katniss is just passing by when something makes her stop. That horrible yowling, reminiscent of a creature equally horrible (contrary to popular belief ~~coughrecentthingsoverthejournal~~, she is not a fan of cats), echoing all over the walls. When she comes closer instead of moving on, sets foot in the room, she's greeted by the sight of the girl with the cat in her arms.

A sight that actually.... makes her smile. Small, but it's there.]

They can be hard to catch.

[ Oh hey girl with a bow she actually likes. ]

I know. My dancing master said it's good to study cats. You have to be light on your feet and quick to catch them.

I'm the kid who is a dragon. And yeah, Spike.

Haven't seen a dragon yet.

You know, I get the distinct impression that that cat does not like you. [ Because Tony happened to be wandering by and the yowling drew his attention. ]

[ The voice sounds familiar, but she can't place it yet. ]

[ Incredulously- ] Training?

Are you hoping to be the next Steve Irwin, then? Because I think he started off a little bit higher than cats.

Who's Steve Irwin?

He's... [ Really? Somebody doesn't know?

Well, then, there are people from different worlds. But it's kind of heartbreaking to think that those different worlds don't have their own Steve Irwin. ]

He goes around and... catches crocodiles. And other things. [ Will not make a stingray joke, will not make a stingray joke... ]

Why?

I don't you. You tell me, you're the tinier, female version that catches cats.

Right, yes, we've established that part. But what are you training for, if not to be the next great crocodile hunter?

[ She sighs heavily, the sigh of children who cannot believe adults can't understand something so very obvious. ]

It's for my sword fighting. I have to be quick and light on my feet. Catching cats helps me train because you have to be quick and light on your feet to catch them. [ Duh. ]
