[ Katniss ]
[Dairine hasn't heard from her in a long time. And while she trusts that Katniss can take care of herself (usually), a vocal assurance would be nice. Especially with Clove still lurking around.]
Hey Kat, how’re you doing?
[ Alan Bradley ]
Just a heads up; I’m coming over. Hope you don’t mind!
((Open to action in the halls of Ira tower and for those in the Bradley residence.))

[Dairine]
Action!
It doesn't take long before there's a knock at the door.] Alan! It's me!
Dairine (sorry I'm late!!)
Hey.
/leaps in here? hopefully this is cool!
Hi.
/always loves Sam threadjacks
[You get a slightly admonishing look, little mister. Though Dairine had announced her intentions and her voice was recognizable, there were rules about opening the door.]
Come on in. Can I get you anything?
/yeees
Hi, Sam. How's it going? [A small clicking noise can be heard from the hall as she talks. The source quickly becomes apparent when Spot walks out from behind Dairine on his thin little metal legs. He skitters up to Sam, then stops near the young boy's feet to stare up at the him. Dairine chuckles.] Spot says "hi," too.
[She strolls in after the walking computer.] Yeah. Coke, if you have any.
\o/
Hi, Spot.
Katniss (no problem)
Oh ho! A response? What luck! Even if it doesn't tell her much.]
Just "hey?"
no subject
Spot? [He can get her Coke in a second. Right now, moving laptop that both Dairine and Sam seem to know.]
no subject
Oh yeah, you've never been properly introduced, have you? Alan, this is Spot, my wizard's manual and friend. [She gestures towards the laptop, which is still sitting near Sam.] Spot, you remember Alan, right? He's the one who lived with me during the Paris trip.
[Spot doesn't move, but a small periscope-like sensor sprouts from his lid, which swivels towards Alan's direction. Looking at youuu...]

Did Spot like Paris?
no subject
[He looks back up at Dairine and Sam.] Spot didn't look like this in Paris.

Hello.[Spot answers, his voice smooth yet mechanical. He then turns the periscope so it's facing Sam. The young boy is much closer than he was last time, but Spot stays still. He may even let Sam touch him, if he wants.]No, Spot didn't like Paris very much. Or at least not Paradisa’s Paris. The castle cut access to most of his programming for the trip, including his mobility and speech capabilities. Which is why he seemed like your average laptop at the time.

[He'll watch for a moment more before retrieving Dairine's requested drink. He keeps an eye on Spot as he asks:] So what brings you over?
Crawls back after hiatus
So I've heard. [Or read. When it comes to information gathering, she doesn't really differentiate between the two. Dairine sips the Coke a little before breaking out into a grin.] Oh yeah! I've got something for you.
<33
[Sometimes he's too curious.]
Welcome back!
^/////^
Ah ha! [Aaaand after some searching in the air, Dairine pulls out a large envelope! She offers it to Alan.] Here you go!
no subject
Thanks. [He accepts the envelope, opening it to check out its contents.]
Super duper late
"Thanks for always being there for me. It's nice to have an adult who is supportive of both my programming and wizardry endeavors. You have watched over me without being overbearing, which believe me, I am grateful for. I know I've said some harsh things in the past, and I'm sorry for that. I did not mean them. While we might not be blood-relatives, I have come to think of you as family.
Happy Father's Day, Alan.
- Love, Dairine"]
It's a few days late, but I thought you deserved something.

When he's read it, he closes the card and regards her with an affectionate look. It's a big gesture, coming from a girl as independent as Dairine. And Alan appreciates it. His voice is soft but sincere when he speaks.]
Thank you, Dairine. It means a lot.
