Day One: Party!

[it's the summer solstice and a huge group of demigods safely made it to camp. This is clearly a good omen for things to come. The camp is alive with music and dancing. The satyrs are jamming on their lutes and the tree nymphs come out of the trees to dance. Everybody's invited!

The party will go on long into the night. It's all for you guys, so have a blast!]

I doubt Artemis would plan to allow men in her cabin.

Ah, well. Fair point... ( with that she glances at some of the Artemis men. ) ...never thought about that. I have been wondering about Hera's "children," though.

Hera has been known to patron demigods, but I have never seen one allowed in her cabin before. It's as if some other magic is at work here.

Mm, that's what I mean. I've never seen it with anyone in there before, it's... interesting. ( and she hopes it's insulting to her, too. because forget that lady, really. )

[Hestia's eyes glow in amusement, like she knows what Annabeth may be thinking about]

What do you think of your new cabin mates?

( catching the glow, Annabeth clears her throat with a half-shrug, as though wordlessly telling Hestia she's totally not going to apologize for her thoughts just then. she smiles, though. )

They're all really interesting people, it'll be kind of cool to get to know some new campers, to be honest.

There are some good people here. Some have shared their food with me and spoken with me at length.

I guess people here notice you more. ( errr, not that she's ever forgotten that you're, you know, there Hestia — just, uh, well... yeah she's got nothing to offer in apology for how little the demigods tend to take notice to her. ) Which is, you know, excellent.

[it doesn't bother her. She chose this, after all. It's actually a pleasant surprise to be noticed so much]

I think it's because so many of them are far from home.

That's probably true. It's a new, weird, place for them to be all of a sudden. They're probably taking everything in much more vividly than we do.

Yes. They search for answers... I wish I could help them.

So do I. This is all really... awkward.

[she nods. It's camp, and yet not camp. It's a weird situation]

I think Percy would be here telling me to look at the bright side. ( she shrugs halfheartedly ) So, maybe I should try to look for one.

I'm sure you will find something. [child of wisdom and all that]

At least I get to feel at home for a while. That's always good. And I did miss my cabin bunk... And it's nice to see the satyrs again. ( hey, maybe Grover is around? that would be nice )

I'm happy to see the camp so full of life. [even if most of these people aren't really supposed to be here]

Yeah, it hasn't been like this in a while since... ( and she trails off. ) Anyway, it's nice to have so many people to put the camp to use.

Indeed. [though the "why" will probably eat at everybody. Oh, well]

( she gives Hestia a knowing look, wordlessly agreeing with her on that whole 'why' thing. )
