Day One: Party!

[it's the summer solstice and a huge group of demigods safely made it to camp. This is clearly a good omen for things to come. The camp is alive with music and dancing. The satyrs are jamming on their lutes and the tree nymphs come out of the trees to dance. Everybody's invited!

The party will go on long into the night. It's all for you guys, so have a blast!]

I do think I'm a little hard to forget.

You shouldn't spend your entire night on the sidelines! What happens when the dance is over, and everything has just passed you by.

Oh...[She shrugs.] I'm not sure! I suppose I'm still thinking about it.

Couldn't the same be said for you, too? Since you're not out on the dance floor, either.

Haha, you caught me!

Cant dance without a partner, though, can I?

Well, you can in some instances, but it is fun to dance with a partner sometimes. It's not something I have much experience with, to be honest.

[Could he be hinting at something...? Jane wants to ask, but she really loves this banter and doesn't want to force anything.]

Me neither! [He runs a hand through his hair, ruffling it a little more.] I'm used to flying solo, but I do like company.

[cyan_maid]

[Jane hums and nods.]

Company is always lovely, especially when it's good company. [A smile for Yuuya.]

[whathedoves]

Maybe we could keep each other company, Miss Jane. [He looks out at the dancers.]

I think I can be graceful!

[cyan_maid]

I think I would like that very much, Mister Yuuya.

[She glances at him, then at the dancers.] Graceful as in...?

[whathedoves]

Ah, for starters, not stepping on my own feet!

Or yours.

... Just kidding!

[cyan_maid]

Hoo hoo! Of course, of course. I don't think I'd be too sore at you if you did, though, since such things do happen sometimes.

[whathedoves]

Nonsense, we'll be the very picture of elegance!

[He offers his wing arm.]

[cyan_maid]

[Her cheeks turn a little red at his offer, but she takes his arm gently and smiles.]

I'll take your word for it, then.

[whathedoves]

Miss Jane, you're positively glowing!

[As he moves his shoulders back and forth a little, trying to get into the beat.



Okay he doesn't really know how to dance, at all, beyond what he's seen on the internet, but he's got rhythm covered pretty well.]

[Oh gosh, she can't stop giggling and grinning. She can't help it!

Jane can match his rhythm. She's not the best dancer either, so it's totally alright.]

[whathedoves]

[Her laugh inspires one in Yuuya in turn, the same sort of brassy overdramatic laugh he always seems to fall back on.

What ensues is the dance of a pigeon turned into a human trying to be charming.]

So far, so good, mon amie. The very picture of grace, like I predicted!

Maybe I'm psychic!

[Well, this is...certainly an odd dance, and Jane's never seen it done before, but she'll do her best to keep up. She's getting a little dizzy, though...]

I-If you say so...!

[whathedoves]

I shall have to test later results ... if I predict the week perfectly, well then, Miss Jane, you have found yourself quite a catch!

[Do humans do turns? All of his experience with films of the past indicates yes.

So he tries to ballroom-turn her.]

I - ah! I know that dancing can be a particularly intimate occasion, at least where I am from, but I wanted to assure you that I would not lead you astray!

[cyan_maid]

[A catch? Lead astray? Oh dear. Perhaps Jane has gotten herself into something she shouldn't have? She's just going to let her mind chew on that-

And then that turn. Whoa! That came out of nowhere.]

I see...um, what might you mean by "lead astray", Yuuya?

[whathedoves]

I just don't mean any funny business!

Not currently, anyway! I'm being very sincere.

Back home dancing is so often to proposition, but I'd rather be straightforward about my intentions of courting, you know?

[cyan_maid]

I...think so!

[So he'd most likely verbalize any romantic intentions. Okay then, that's good. Jane's definitely not ready to get proposed to! She's visibly a bit relieved.]

[whathedoves]

[Yuuya sighs and smiles broadly.]

There, mon amie, that's all settled! Just because I'm a romantic doesn't mean I'm not cautious!

[cyan_maid]

[Jane smiles back.]

It's always good to be a little cautious!

Do you think so? Is there ever a time to just let loose?
