Day Two: Campfire

[Crosses her arms.]

Distraction is a classic ninja technique. [Hell, it's classic for any fighting.]

...I'm going to fail this, aren't I?

[Nods.]

Yeah, you are. But it's okay. You're surrounded by fighters, so I'm probably not the only one who noticed.

Really not making me feel any better there.

[He drops down to the ground with a put out expressions on his face.]

Can I just say that purely by coincidence I ran into a few situation where I had to pick a few things up?

I suppose so...

[Tilts her head.]

Are you ashamed about being able to fight?

[schrodingersghost]

Ni? I mean, it isn't the fighting that I worry about. It's the kind of pointed questions that would come about where I learned to fight.

And the castle took away my ability to lie.

I see. So not everyone you know fights like you do?

[She sits down nearby.]

Is it a special technique?

[schrodingersghost]

I fight ghosts. In a way that no one else can. And no is supposed to know it's me.

Oh, I see. [Thinks a little.]

It's a special ability then.

Something like that. If by special ability you mean freakish powers.

I know how you feel.

[She gives him a look.]

I'm the only one who can Summon the Elemental Spirits and use Elemental Cards on my world. [Yes, the entire world. And yes, she's been called a freak.]

[schrodingersghost]

I have no idea what that means. [He gives her apologetic looks. From the way she said it it sounded important.] Sorry?

Oh. Ummm... Shadow is an Elemental Spirit. He's the Spirit of Darkness. I can Summon him only because I made a pact with him--something that only certain people can do, and I'm the last.

[She pulls out one of her cards marked with strange glyphs and activates it, and suddenly the air starts becoming colder.]

This is an Ice Card. No one else can make these work. [Shuts it down and hands it to him.] Try it.

[Danny stares at the card and hesitates.]

Um, that might be a bad idea. I mean, me getting close to more ice energy probably is not going to end well.

Why do you say that?

[She's pretty sure he won't be able to do anything, since he's more than likely not part elf, but it doesn't hurt to make sure.]

And if it's a problem, I have Fire, Lighting, and Wind, too. Just to name a few.

...Ice powers. Technically not completely under control ice powers.

[ninjainviolet]

Oh. You have Ice Powers. [Just a little jealous.] Well, Fire is the opposite of that, so you wouldn't want to try that...

How about Earth?

[schrodingersghost]

Sort of. Technically. [THey were really just part of his ghost powers.]

I could try I guess.

[ninjainviolet]

I think I understand. [Maybe he had been told he should have them but wants to find out another way. She can't blame him.]

Okay. Here. [Switches out the cards and hands him the Earth one.]

[schrodingersghost]

...Doubt it. [He hadn't covered the bit about being half-ghost yet.]

Um, okay? [He gingerly takes one of the cards.]

[ninjainviolet]

O..kay. [She won't unless he tells her, but that's his choice.

Lets go of the card and waits, not surprised at all when nothing happens.]
