Day Three: Announcement/Open Post

[remember that satyr who welcomed everybody and took them on a tour? He's back and sounding cheerful as ever. Yeah apparently he hasn't noticed how some of you don't really like being here]

Attention, campers! I have a very exciting announcement for you all! We will be holding a chariot race three days from now. Make alliances among your fellow campers and work together to build a chariot! I'm certain those looking after our horses will help you train them for the race.

[if anyone is wandering around the strawberry fields today, they will see the satyrs hanging out there playing music. This music seems to be helping the plants grow. And yes, they are wearing those stupid camp T-shirts. What do you do, campers?]

[Strawberry fields and music? It's not long before Rue's gravitated that way and is dancing through the fields, helping the plants along in her own nymphy way.]

[Yay, dance partners! She twirls in a circle, laughing as she dances between the rows of strawberries with the satyrs]

That's the fun of it, son of Ares! You get to decide! I'm sure there are plenty of materials around camp for you!

[... son... of Ares. He opens his mouth to argue but realizes that he'd be arguing with a man who's half goat and that just seems a little too ridiculous for him]

[ What could be more adorable than satyrs in orange shirts dancing? Lucrezia laughs heartily and claps in appreciation. ]

[the satyrs seem extra pleased to see her and give her respectful bows]

[ Too adorable. She takes a few steps closer and offers her hand for one of them to ask her to dance, because there is such a thing as asking someone to ask you for a twirl in the strawberry fields. ]

[they look super-pleased and happily take the offer]

[ And she does a little twirl with some fancy hand gestures and a giggle. ]

[one of them hopefully approaches. Dance with him?]

[ No need to be shy! She gladly offers him a hand to hold. ]

[ Laughing! ] He is the patron god of music, is he not?

Wine! [beams at her] We satyrs pay homage to him and his children.

[ She tries to angle that satyr's hand over her head so she can twirl. ]

You would call me a child of Dionysus?

Aren't you...? You're in his cabin.

[ Dionysus is not so different from her father, she thinks. ]

Then I am.

[the satyrs look relieved]

Are we dividing into teams of our own choosing for this chariot race? Or will we be working with our cabin mates?

Many campers choose to make alliances among the other cabins while others work only with their cabin mates. It's up to you!
