[Edward found out some very interesting information today. Namely that Spike is supposed to be the counselor of their cabin and he's not, well, counseling... or doing much of anything for that matter. Clearly something needs to be done about this. She creeps up on his bunk, peering over the edge at him.]

Spiii~iiiiike.

[Hmmm. He's not moving. But he's breathing so it's obvious he's still alive. There's only one solution: She grins and hops up onto his bed, jumping up and down next to him]

Wakey wakey Spike Spike!

((ooc: Spike doesn't want to actually do anything as camp counselor so Edward has decided to take matters into her own hands and MAKE HIM. Feel free to spectate, try to help kick Spike's ass into gear or, you know, just bum around the cabin. whatevs. THREADJACKING ENCOURAGED!))

[She shakes her head] Edward doesn't know Edward's real name.

You don't know your--? [Pauses.] You were adopted?

[She shrugs] Edward's been alone for a loooooong time. And Edward's loss is Edward's Father-person.

Oh... [She hesitates a moment.] It's not a loss for me, but...I never knew my real parents.

[jammin_with_ed]

Edward never knew Edward's Mother-person. Edward took care of Edward. [She shrugs]

Well, you're stronger than I am, Edward. I don't think I could have done that; it's a good thing I was adopted.

Adopted? [She blinks, cocking a head at her]

[ninjainviolet]

[Thinking she's asking for clarification of her situation, and not a definition, she explains.]

Yeah. I was taken in by the chief of a village and raised as his daughter.

[jammin_with_ed]

[She thinks for a moment] Okay. Edward understands. Ed stayed at an orphanage for a little while, but Ed got bored so Ed left.

[She can't help chuckling.] You got bored and left?

Edward, I think you lived every kids' dream by doing that.

[she blinks] Edward did?

[What? Doesn't every kid do whatever they want from the age of 7?]

Yes, you did! A lot of kids sometimes want to just leave home without thinking about it.

[Not Sheena. At 7, she was busy causing a huge tragedy...]

[Oh well that's another story. She shrugs]

Edward didn't know any differently. That's just how it was for Edward.
