I think if the gods did show up, they would simply be a manifestation of the castle...which explains why they haven't shown up.

You must admit, this change is useful. People are building and learning how to use weapons, to fight. I'm building a chariot! [This is said with almost boyish glee.] I'm rather enjoying myself.

I don't think swords are all that useful, honestly... there are better ways to fight.

Oh, never underestimate a good blade, my friend! I'm quite skilled with a sword...it teaches excellent discipline. In any case, there's no reason why we should limit ourselves to primitive weapons.

This is much more to my tastes than other things that have occurred.
