[ She hadn't expected to stay long, her intention was to spend a short amount of time catching up with Arthur and the others before leaving to continue on with her day. But that plan fell through when she was greeted with an empty house, the others obviously off doing their own things. She should have left then, she had no other reason to stay. Yet being worn from the previous nights terrors, she didn't, instead choosing a moment to rest and subsequently falling asleep on the couch.

Which is exactly where she lays now, sleeping rather peacefully for once. Isn't she adorable? ]

[Stamping snow from his boots as he returns, Gwaine is unaware of the sleeping occupant of the couch. He does notice when he attempts to sit down. He freezes, mid-taking off a modern-looking coat. Morgana was the very last person he expected to see here. Another unannounced visit from Del would have surprised him less. After a moment's hesitation, he reaches out to shake her awake. His hand stops just before touching her. It hangs in the air for a moment before he draws away. Dropping his coat on the back of a nearby chair, he strolls into the kitchen, scrubbing at his hair as he goes.]

[ The movement stirs her from her rest, eyes fluttering opening slowly. ] Arthur? [ Her voice is quiet, coated in sleep. She pushes herself up, free hand going to wipe the sleep from her eyes. How long had she been? Well, it doesn't really matter does it? ]

[He pauses at the table. He scratches an eyebrow before calling out from the kitchen.]

He's not returned yet.

[Unwilling to remain in the kitchen and give the impression he's hiding (why would he hide, he has no reason to), he turns on his heel and steps back inside the living room. He leans against the doorway, watching her.]

[ She tenses, suddenly much more awake, much more aware and stares at him. Surprise painfully clear. ]

Gwaine. [ She had been dreading this, the inevitable meeting after... ]

Lady Morgana. [He bows his head respectfully.] Did you sleep well?

...Fairly well. [ Straighten, subtly tidy self. Not that she cares what he'd think of her current state. Nope. ] I must have underestimated how tired I truly was.

[He shifts a little.] Something troubling you lately?

[ She studies him for a moment, trying to gauge if he is simply being polite or actually cares. Then she tears her gaze from him, to prevent her eyes from betraying her. ]

There is something, that has been plaguing my mind.

[He straightens, pulling away from the doorway as he does so. He tries to gauge what it could be.]

Is that what brought you here today? Arthur should not be much longer if you care to wait. I can try to find him through the journal if you need.

[ NOPE.JPG, try harder pretty boy. ]

No, this is not a problem Arthur will be able to help. You cannot swing a sword are such things. I had come to visit, to see how our prince is fairing. He is like family to me after all.

[The pretty is what he's got going for him okay. You can't ask for much else.]

Ah. One of those. [He takes a seat in an armchair.] I'm sure that wouldn't stop him from trying.

[ Oh, she can ask for a lot more. But she isn't.

Her mouth twitches into a faint smile and she looks at him. ] I do not think it would be beneficial to anyone. The oblivious party may end up losing their head.

[He makes a face at that.]

Best not say anything then. Whoever it is, I'm sure they appreciate their head on their shoulders. And out of stocks.

I am certain they would.

[He flashes her a quick smile. Elbows on his knees, he rubs his hands together.]

Would you like anything while you wait?

[ Little does he knows that he is not helping her troubled mind, not in the slightest. ]

A drink would be nice, tea if you can manage it.

I will try my best.

[He gets up, hiding just how relieved he is to be able to escape into the kitchen for the moment. Once there, he leans against the counter and sighs. This...is a lot more difficult than he had imagined. Gwaine doesn't know what to expect of her anymore or even where the lines are drawn here. He gets the teapot and fills it with water, trying to put it out of mind for the moment.]

[ He's about as relived as she is to see him disappear into the kitchen. Shoulders slumping with a soft sigh she wrings her hands together. This is far harder than expected, she has no idea how to act towards him, no idea where she is supposed to stand. She wants to turn tail and run, yet her traitorous feet refuse to move. ]

[He at least knows how to boil water. As soon as it begins whistling, he takes the teapot off the heat. He pours the water into a waiting cup, almost too quickly having it ready. He picks up the teacup carefully and heads back into the living room where he proffers it to Morgana.]

Careful. It's hot.

Thank you, Gwaine. [ She takes the cup carefully, a bit too carefully in fact, as if trying to avoid contact with him as much as humanly possible. A small smile and blows on her drink slightly, cooling it down a fraction.

It's not perfect, but he tried. ]

[His brow furrows when he notices that. He sits down again, although this time it's a bit farther away from her than at first. Joking, he tries to deflect the tenseness in the atmosphere.]

And that is the extent of my ability in a kitchen. Don't tell anyone. I shudder to consider what might happen to my reputation if word got out.

[ It works, so it appears and she laughs softly, bringing the cup to her lips. ]

Do not worry, your secret is safe with me. None shall know it.

[ She takes a sip, careful and precise, lowering the cup again. ]

...Have you been well?

[Let's see. Two consecutive losses, made to love someone and then having to deal with what was left of the emotion, forced kisses bringing up feelings and doubts he never wanted, having no idea where he and Arthur stand, actually missing Camelot and, to top it all off, lately he's had to drink twice as much to get half as buzzed as he did before. All in all—]

Well as I can be. I'm still alive at least.

[ She takes another sip from her cup, watching him carefully. Don't think she didn't notice the pause before you answered, Gwaine, she knows what that means. She does it all the time. ]

I see. [ Sip. ] That is good to hear.

[Hush, you, all it means is he had to whip his hair a bit first. THAT'S ALL.]
