[Thanks to the castle's meddling, Kat's official first day back had been spent relaxing, and while it had been a little frustrating to not be able to jump right into things the way she would have liked, it did give her a chance to reflect on the memories she was still receiving and digging up.]

[But, now she was back on her terms, and that meant getting down to business.]

Filtered to Friends and Allies, both new and old

Status report. Now. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

/Filter

[A faint pause after that filter. She'd had certain memories, recollections of past conversations, she knew what would have happened if she had really been sent home, and just Jorge's and Six's presence here reinforces what she had at one time thought was a complete and utter lie.]

[There's a small hint of amusement amid the determination in her voice.] I guess it is true. Spartans never die.

[She'll be reacquainting herself with the castle and surrounding grounds today, patrolling in full armor. Feel free to run into her anywhere!]

-- and I don't care what either of them do, we're not adding South or Wyoming. [Said with finality. There's no way Kat feels she can forgive them for South eventually does and what Wyoming actually did to Washington and York.]

How have you been settling in? [Since, lol, she missed a lot :( ]

Understood. I take it you know something of them I don't? South, I actually now have a small cell in my quarters because I wanted to be able to keep an eye on her after she attacked me and Jorge.

Well enough. [About as well as one my expect of a lone wolf.]

According to York, South Dakota is from early on in the project, but she goes on to shoot Washington. Wyoming is from late in the project, and is responsible for York's death. [And you see why the hate?]

Hm. What alliances have you formed in my absence? [YUP It's Kat Interrogate Time!]

Understood. Do we watch and wait? Or do we act on it?

[Six wasn't expecting that... And she's not sure how to put what she's been doing.] Not much. I'm sorry, Kat. I'm not the kind of team leader you are. Been enough just adapting to the changes.

Have someone I'd like to introduce you to in my room.

We wait. They're under Agent Carolina's jurisdiction. But, we do not give them any special treatment because they are Freelancers. York and Washington have eared my trust, and Carolina has so far proved competent and level headed.

Oh, really? [Genuine surprise. She hadn't expected Six to pick up a roommate at all, and would have just been happy to hear she had friends and allies.] On my way.

Understood, Two.

Yes, really. I'm sure you'll like him. [She's amused]

[Time to find out! Within a few minutes she's knocking Six's door.]

[There's still only one name on the door. And a strange voice mumbling "Cubone?" as Six answers the door. Yes, that would be a small skull-wearing animal.]

Come on in.

Six -- look out!

[Yeah, that sure looked like an alien, which Kat is now trying to punt.]

[lonenoble]

Stop! He's a friend, Kat. Don't hurt him. He's an animal. Not Covenant. [She's trying to get between them.]

He's a Pokemon. A Cubone.

[At Six's promptings, Kat halts her motions and settles back at step.]

It looks like an alien.

Came from a world change. I named him Emile.

[Yes, the cute animal with the skull on its head is Emile.]

[Kat looks from Six then down to the Cubone. She sighs.] Okay, you got me there. He does look like Emile.

[lonenoble]

He is a good friend, considering. He protected me through that change. Fought for me. Tough little guy.

I'm glad to hear it. Was it one of those changes where your physical nature was effected?

[lonenoble]

I was a normal human. Jorge was too.

These kinds of creatures were all over. They weren't really big on weaponry. Preferred fighting using these creatures. I started with Emile. Never really needed more.

[Kat goes thoughtfully quiet for a moment. She'd jumped right into routine since it was her coping mechanism, but the idea that they'd been here -- that Six had been left with the mess and Jorge had arrived and Kat was, Kat was what? Brainwashed into thinking she was at a summer camp? Despite the fact that she knew there was nothing she could have done about it, guilt still ate at her.]

Sorry I wasn't around for that.

Don't be. I think it worked out well.

Glad to hear it. [And she was, mostly. She knew Six was far more of a Lone Wolf then Kat, and if anyone could survive without direct leadership it was her. Kat had run into her own problems, but she thrived in a team enironment, and festered on her own. A small part of her, though, was acutely aware that they didn't actually need, that it'd been fine without her and what was her presence now, really?]

I've done my best to keep my promise... But I'm still more comfortable handling things on my own.

I know that, Six. You've done well.

[lonenoble]

Thank you.

[She really is glad of that little bit of reassurance there.] At least I can honor his memory by living up to that.

[Tilting her head slightly.] Who's memory?

[lonenoble]

Carter. Promised him I'd stop the lone wolf stuff when I joined the team...

[inmylight_commander]

[Kat goes thoughtfully silent at that. She remembers Carter, feels a pang at his name, and then slowly recalls the conversation when Six had filled her in previously on what happened to the rest of Noble. She extends her thoughtful silence to a respectful moment for them, briefly and quietly and personally mourning them anew.]

You would do him proud, if he were here.
