[Thanks to the castle's meddling, Kat's official first day back had been spent relaxing, and while it had been a little frustrating to not be able to jump right into things the way she would have liked, it did give her a chance to reflect on the memories she was still receiving and digging up.]

[But, now she was back on her terms, and that meant getting down to business.]

Filtered to Friends and Allies, both new and old

Status report. Now. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

[A faint pause after that filter. She'd had certain memories, recollections of past conversations, she knew what would have happened if she had really been sent home, and just Jorge's and Six's presence here reinforces what she had at one time thought was a complete and utter lie.]

[There's a small hint of amusement amid the determination in her voice.] I guess it is true. Spartans never die.

[She'll be reacquainting herself with the castle and surrounding grounds today, patrolling in full armor. Feel free to run into her anywhere!]

Like me. [Wash had been very open about her death, both the one he had thought she'd 'gone home' for and the one that actually occurred in the castle.]

It's good to be back. [And her tone never wavers. As confusing as it was, as much as she was holding onto those fake memories of a family, the more she remembered of her past the more convinced here is where she belonged.]

[Well, if defending the human race from the Covenant isn't an option...yeah, they do want to have here here.]

So! Any plans now that you're here?

Just get myself reacquainted and get back in the swing of things. New people have arrived, some allies have gone home. [But pretty much 'jump right in and hope for the best'.]

[Although speaking of which--]

The Doctor, the eleventh one, he went home. And the Fifth did the same, but then he came back. So don't be offended if he doesn't recognize you.

On the plus side, Caterina and Tres are back.

[Frowning a little on her end. Certainly the Doctors had been some of their greatest allies.] Do you think the Eleventh went home or went home?

[It really put them in a whole new quandary. ]

[York shrugs.]

Beats me. Until Paris, we thought everybody who went home was gone forever. Now? Who knows who else could be out there?

This place certainly doesn't like to make things simple, does it?

Oh, come on. You'd get bored in ten seconds if it was simple.

[An outright, albeit short, laugh at that.]

Alright, you got me. I appreciate the challenge.

You're a Spartan. You gotta fight something, even if it's just a magic castle.

True. I've always got to fight for something.

[Not quite what he said, but it's close enough.]

--Did you make audio logs of the memories you had?

[A brief pause, and then, softly.]

Yes.

Central Park is beautiful in the winter, by the way.

[York gets a pained look on his face and turns away.]

I'm glad you got to see it, even if it's only though the castle.

[inmylight_commander]

[She glances away and reaches up to rub at her neural import. Having that back was a grounding thing for her when she got really confused by the contrasting memories.]

[Still soft,] They may be fake memories, but don't want to forget them. They showed me far too much that I'll never have a chance to otherwise. [Birthdays. Holidays. Parents. It's at this thought that she replaces the helmet, wanting that curtain to hide her emotions behind.]

I should probably be on my way.

[York nods. He knows that feeling well enough, though in his case it has more to do with simultaneous thought processes from Delta than from conflicting memories.]

Yeah. And if you want to relive it some time--any time--you can come here. Delta can make this place look like anything.

I'll keep that in mind. [She's hoping she won't need it, but with some of the stuff the castle threw at them, she's not discounting anything.]
