~ thirty-eighth fairy tale
[Lunar Festival? What Lunar Festival? What world boss rising out of the duck pond? Amy's laid up in bed, feeling ill and cranky and faintly miserable. Today is apparently a day she gets to suffer through the phantom effects of her real body's pregnancy back home. Either that, or she's got food poisoning]
Heeeeeey, castle. Do you have a good remedy for an upset stomach? Rory knows his stuff, but it's only Earth medicine, and I am really open to alternatives right now.

[Carson's sounding concerned. We Scots have to look out for one another, aye?]

Um--are you an actual medical doctor? I'm not trying to be insulting, it's just--I don't think the Doctor is.

[Carson]
Okay. To answer your question... the short answer is, I think it's morning sickness.
no subject
Morning sickness? You taken a test?
[Filter forever]
Indeed!
Think it could be a loss?
no subject
It's not a loss. It's because of the--the link. I'm not in my real body right now. My consciousness is linked to this one, and River--do you know River?--she said I'll sometimes get an echo of what my real body is going through because of that.

...so, the body your in right now isn't your own... Aye, that makes sense.
[He pauses a while, thinking] It also means that there's probably not a lot anyone can do.
[He's awfully accepting of all this crazy talk]
no subject
Ugh, don't say that.
no subject
[A pause]
I can come and see if it's anything other than morning sickness?
no subject
[Rory could probably do that, but it's so much like morning sickness that, given her situation, they're just assuming that's what it is...]
Do I need to go to the clinic for that?
no subject
And it's portable, so I can bring it to you, if you want.
no subject
[Because she really doesn't feel like moving much right now]

[It takes about five minutes for Carson to pick up what he needs and head out from the Clinic.]

Doctor Beckett? Is that you?
no subject
Is Amy still okay?
no subject
Right, good, thanks...
[and motions for him to follow over to the bed, where Amy is curled up on her side in her nightie, looking a bit green around the gills. There's a waste bin at the ready on the side of the bed closest to her]
About as okay as she can be. [he's speaking quietly and his eyes are fixed on her, more tense than they ought to be] No fever and she hasn't vomited in well over fifteen minutes now. I've been... been trying to keep fluids in her.
[reaching out, he gently touches her shoulder]
Amy? Doctor Beckett's here.

Hi, Carson.
