~ thirty-eighth fairy tale
[Lunar Festival? What Lunar Festival? What world boss rising out of the duck pond? Amy's laid up in bed, feeling ill and cranky and faintly miserable. Today is apparently a day she gets to suffer through the phantom effects of her real body's pregnancy back home. Either that, or she's got food poisoning]
Heeeeeey, castle. Do you have a good remedy for an upset stomach? Rory knows his stuff, but it's only Earth medicine, and I am really open to alternatives right now.

[He would get a better idea of what it was when he actually saw here.]

Milday? I'm coming in with the herbs I promised.
[A gentleman as always, trained by his mother.]
no subject
Ah, hello? You must be the bloke with the herbal remedies, yeah?
no subject
Yes. I am Vanyel Ashkevron.

Right, come on in then... Amy's over here in bed.
[he nods toward his wife, who is curled up on the bed in just her nightie, looking distinctly green around the gills. Rory goes to her and lays a light hand at the small of her back, murmuring]
That Vanyel bloke with the herbs is here.

[Amy gingerly rolls onto her back, pushing herself up into a sitting position. There's a wastepaper bin sitting conspicuously next to the side of the bed she'd just been facing]

I am going to have to touch you for a moment to try and ascertain what is wrong. As I do, tell me your symptoms so far, all right?
no subject
Well, there's... a lot of queasiness. Like I want to throw up, but can't.

Hmm. So stomach pains. Any headaches? Fever?
[He placed his hand on hers, opening the channel of his Healing Gift and left it out. He was by no means powerful enough to have his Greens, but he knew enough to help those he came across - enough to diagnose problems and fix them with herbs or help speed healing, however minor.]
no subject
...sorry, that's actually the Reader's Digest version right there :/]
No, no headaches, no fever.
no subject
All right. It might not be so bad then.
[He closed his eyes, letting his power work, trying to sense what was going on as much as he could.]

[Rory, who has so far been quiet as Vanyel works, is standing at the foot of the bed with his arms crossed, chewing on a thumbnail with an oddly terse expression on his face. When Vanyel says 'not so bad then', his eyes flick up to Amy's]
/salutes! o7
You feel like you are pregnant, but I cannot feel another life.
heh heh heh

What?!
[to Vanyel, it probably sounds like the right response: shock]
