[Larry is just finishing tidying up his room for his date. A table adorned with roses and candles is now set up in the middle of the floor, and more candles can be seen scattered around the room. That's right... The date will be in his room. Hooray for convenience? He surveys the setup and gives a satisfied nod after deciding that it's absolutely perfect. He sits down in one of the two chairs at the table and taps his foot nervously. His first real date at Para! You just can't beat that. Thanks a bunch, Wheatley.]

[ Well, it was time to investigate this "Larry" fellow. GLaDOS made it to the room, crumpling the paper as soon as she made it there. She had no need for that terrible letter anymore.

... What was it that those humans did again to alert each other of their presence?

Ah, right. Knock.

[He isn't nervous. Not at ALL.]

O-oh wait... Uh, come in!

[ Definitely not. GLaDOS can practically feel the fear radiating from the room. In waves.

She turns the doorknob, letting herself in.

She's an AI, so she doesn't understand the candles everywhere. Or the roses... but she closes the door behind her as she heads towards the table. ]

... Hello. You're Larry, right?

Uh, yeah. Are you, um... what was it again?

...oh, yeah, have a seat!

I'm GLaDOS. [ she introduces herself, moving to sit at the opposite side of the table, glancing at the roses curiously before looking to him again. ]

Why are you interested in me? [ She's not really the best at small talk. ]

Uhhh... B-because... Cause I'm lonely and someone told me you were available?

[AWWW.]

[ ... Available. Oh, god. GLaDOS has a feeling he means something like a human mate. ]

... I see. Why would you be lonely? There's a lot of people in this castle. [ She's forcing herself to try and ask questions and move the conversation along. Little does she know, she's acting more like an interrogator. ]

Because I don't... Really know anyone... And I want a girlfriend... And my best friend lost his memories of me and now I have to start from scratch with him.

[sawadeertoday]

[ ... Oh. ]

... I'm guessing that's the castle's doing.

[ She's still not sure how to address the girlfriend issue though. ] Listen. I'll be honest with you; I don't know how a human relationship works, and to be frank, I'm not interested in mating in the future.

[ Now that that's out of the way: ]

I don't mind staying here for the day, though. And keeping you company. [ It's not like she had anything better to do, she supposed. ]

Ah... Hm.

[He thought Wheatley had said she would be interested? Guess he lied... But the latter part of that statement seems hopeful.

He looks around the room at all the candles and roses... Yeah, this isn't going to work.]

Er... How do you feel about going outside?

Outside... the castle?

[ But there are birds out there, Larry! BIRDS. Regardless, she'll try to keep her composure. ]

That's fine. Do you have any ideas in particular? [ Hopefully not a romp through the woods or anything of that nature. ]

Uhh... Just walking, I guess?

[shrug????]

Alright, then. Let's walk.

[ GLaDOS stands up, ready to leave when he is. She wasn't in a bad mood, thank goodness. She was just a little bewildered as to how a guy that didn't even really know her liked her.

Humans made no sense. ]

[He stands too and heads out the door, motioning to her to follow. He's starting to feel extremely awkward...]

[ Don't worry, the feeling is mutual. GLaDOS follows him out, not really enjoying the relative silence, so she would attempt to start conversation. ]

So, where did you come from before you arrived here?

[thebutz]

Oh, I came from California. In the United States if you didn't know. You?

[sawadeertoday]

Ah, the United States. [ Of course she would simply reply after that: ] I was in Upper Michigan.

Although circumstances were likely quite different between our worlds. I'm not even sure if there were any humans left outside.

[ She was guessing Larry was from a safer place; after all, he didn't seem conditioned for her own version of Earth. ]

Huh, so a different Earth then? Why weren't there any humans left?

[sawadeertoday]

I never really got the chance to look into it, considering I wasn't exactly able to go outside. [ She had never been able to leave her main room, what with being in her chassis. ]

From what I could see, though, there was absolutely nothing out there.

Oh, weird... Why couldn't you go outside?

[sawadeertoday]

Simply put, I was an AI hanging from the ceiling of my chamber. I literally couldn't leave.

The castle thought it would be funny to put me in a human body. Although the increased mobility is nice, these bodies are much more vulnerable and prone to injury.

That's... Weird... So you're not a real person??

[Crushing his dreams!]

I am real. [ she huffed. ]

I have likes. Dislikes. A personality. [ She sounds a bit annoyed; of course she was real. ] Just like you. Except I was built, not conceived.

[ She wasn't a mindless drone set to follow anyone's orders. ]

Oh, huh, well okay then! That's pretty cool. I just didn't know how AIs work, I guess!

[sawadeertoday]

[ Hm. He seemed understanding enough. ]

That could explain it then. The human misconception that AIs are mindless drones that corrupt to do evil.

Is there any AI on your version of Earth?

[thebutz]

Er, well... I guess, in like phones and stuff? But I don't think it's really the same!

[sawadeertoday]

Hm, I'm pretty sure it's not the same, then.

How is your technology back on your version of Earth, anyway? I'm assuming things like computers exist?

[thebutz]

Yeah they do! It's... Normal... Phones and computers and TVs and stuff but not like... Robots or anything?

[sawadeertoday]

[ She nods a little bit. ]

I see... So all of the technology you have has no mind of its own.

So why do you all come up with these crazy ideas about AI being evil? [ She's genuinely curious. ]

[thebutz]

Oh, there's lots of movies in my world about that kind of stuff! Robots going crazy and taking over and things like that! I like those movies but I guess it made me a little prejudiced!

[sawadeertoday]

Huh, interesting. [ She cracks a smile at the whole 'prejudiced' thing. ]

And maybe. You never had met an actual AI after all, so you couldn't exactly form an opinion.

Not really! You're pretty cool though. And sexy, for that matter.

[ She still doubts that he would find her attractive if she wasn't human, but she shrugs it off. ]

If you insist...

[ But the question about eating. GLaDOS hesitates- eating together wasn't a courting ritual... was it? ]

And... that sounds fine, sure. [ It was sort of like when she and Maya would eat together. It was a thing humans did to socialize, right? ]

[Not when it's Larry doing the asking...]

[He grins]

I'll let you know when okay? When are you available?

[ Oh, GLaDOS, what did you just get yourself into.

She looks thoughtful for a moment. ]

I don't have a strict schedule- so I can work around any time you give me.

[ It was true. She didn't have a job, instead opting to work on things in her own hours. ]

How about tomorrow evening? [Now, to figure out a place to go...]

That works. [ Don't worry, GLaDOS doesn't have much of a notion of what's "nice eats". Thankfully! ]

Will we meet there?

Er... Well I don't know where "there" is yet, so how about we meet in the lobby and figure it out from there?

... [ That spontaneity is kind of familiar, and she raises an eyebrow. ]

Alright, then. Although I don't know much about what places there are to eat, out...
