001 | accidental dictation

[The journal picks up on Natsu's voice mid-yell as he startles awake. Better hope your ears are prepared, everyone, because this is going to be loud]

-OWAHHHHHHHH! Let's continue our fi-

[He cuts off abruptly, noticing his unfamiliar surroundings]

What the hell?! Where am I? Happy, did you fly me off somewhere while I was out or somethin'?

[There are a few, precious moments of silence, until he notices one other, very important thing - or, to put it in more accurate terms, notices that it's missing]

AHHHHH WHERE'S MY SCARF?! WHO TOOK IT?! I'll kick your ass if you don't give it back right now!

[... He's still in the room on his own but yes, definitely screaming his head off at apparently nothing and no one]

[ She smiles warmly, though she 'erps' at the poke to the forehead, nodding. ]

Right!

[ Even though it's -weird- seeing him without his scarf. But she would keep an eye out for it - what is lost is always found again, right? ]

It seems the people here are pretty helpful, at least. It's not nearly as bad as Edolas.

[He's trying not to think about it right now, but not wearing it makes him sort of uncomfortable]

Yeah, I guess. I was talking to some of them while waiting for you. [Though he'd been getting annoyed at the insistence that his scarf isn't important]

I still don't really get this place, or what happened, but...

[He shrugs in an almost carefree manner. He's not that concerned, considering it had been the same with Edolas]

[ She watches Natsu for a few minutes, and then looks away, crossing one leg over the other and leaning forward, thinker mode. ]

It may be that this castle operates the way the Anima did - pulling people from their worlds into this one. There's conflicting rumors though - one person said that the castle eats souls [ BARELY suppressing the shudder there. ] and another said that it eats feelings, or something like that.

There's a library down the hall from here- I'll see if I can't find out more about this place.

[ From the size of the library though, Levy would love to see something like that. ]

By the way Natsu, where did you end up when you came here?

[He's busy scratching his head, trying to follow along, but then his jaw drops]

WHA-?! Eats souls? Eats feelings? And it steals things too?! [Where the hell were they, seriously?

A pause, and then he snickers a little at hearing about the library] Guess you're happy about having one of those here.

Hm... A room like this. There were only stairs heading down and it didn't look like any of the other floors. I didn't look around much though, since I left to find you.

[ Yyyep that's pretty much the reaction Lucy herself had had, when Arya told her. ]

It's just rumor - I'm not actually sure any of it's true, but... if it's really true, this place is creepy.

[ Pff, she grins at the note about the library. ]

Well it's a convenient location at least. If we're lucky we'll find out more about this place. A girl I was speaking to, Arya- she did say people have gone back to their own homes. We just don't know how.

And... this is the weird part. [ Oh, just -this- Lucy? ] Time seems to stop when we're brought here, so no one notices we're even gone.

[That's definitely an understatement. He nods along though]

Someone said this place takes something from all of us. When we're brought here. [Curious onyx eyes blink at Lucy, wondering]

Huuh. That'll be what you're gonna try to find out in the library, right? [He'd offer to help, of course, but well... books...]

What? [He frowns, chewing on his bottom lip] Then that means no one will know we're gone, to come look for us.

[ Lucy glances over her shoulder slightly to spy Natsu out of the corner of her eye. This place takes something from them? ... what if the scarf was taken? ... she'd rather believe it was safe at the Guild. But as a reassurance to herself, she reached down to her hip, shifting her posture a little. ]

I still have my keys - if the castle does take something from people who arrive here, I don't know what it would have taken from me. [ Yet, at least. She nods at the guess though. ]

I'm going to try at least. If I can't find anything in the library, then maybe someone here will know more.

[ A bit more grim at the latter, she nods slowly. She still wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not - on the one hand, their friends wouldn't worry about them. On the other - they also wouldn't be able to help them get back home. ]

... yeah.

[He makes humming noises as he crosses his arms and leans forward, gaze flicking over her form as if trying to figure it out himself]

Dunno either. Maybe that's just a rumour too, or something.

[Natsu grumbles in annoyance, leaning back again. He doesn't like that there doesn't seem to be a way to just simply fight their way out and back home]

It's troublesome but if it's true we can't do anything about the weird time thing. No use worrying, if it means everyone's fine then.

[But though he says this, well, it's not like either of them will stop worrying - about numerous things - obviously]

[ It's a complicated matter, with a magic neither were familiar with. Lucy was bright, but she couldn't help but wish Levy were there - not to mention Gray and Erza and Wendy - and then she felt guilty for wishing them there. Things were simpler back home! Just beat up the bad guy and everything goes back to normal. ]

Ah - yeah... at least we know everyone is all right.

How about we have a look around tomorrow?

[Natsu's thoughts were pretty much along the same line. Complicated stuff like this just isn't his thing]

Yeah. [He nudges her with his elbow] Just don't look so down or anything, alright?

[A quick nod in agreement is his only reply for a moment. He's definitely curious to see what's here even if the place is creepy]

Sounds good to me!

[ Aw, Natsu. Lucy grins at the nudge, and nudges back with her elbow. ]

Right, right. I won't. Now... [ She stretches her legs out and raises her arms above her head briefly, before standing to scoop up her book. ]

I'm going to go look around the library, so Natsu - [ She points at the door. ]

Out!

[He laughs, resisting the urge to nudge her again, satisfied at seeing her grin]

Hm? Aw, Lucy!

[Disappointed face is go! But it's not like he wants to go along with her to the library anyway]

Fine, fine. I'm going. [Natsu jumps to his feet and walks over to the door, disappearing out... before poking his head back in]

See you later, Lucy! [And with a wave and smile, he's gone]
