I wish to thank you for the kindness you've shown my sister in her time here. As many of you know, she can be quite a handful if left to her own devices for too long. As a rule, my siblings and I try to make sure at least one of us knows where she is, and what she's doing at any given time. If I've read Paradisa's history right, only Death, Desire, and Dream have had the honor prior to myself.

I suppose I should introduce myself. I am Destruction, of the Endless, though I abandoned my realm some time ago. Delirium is my younger sister. If there is ever anything I can do for any of you, if it is within my power, you've only need to ask.

Would anyone like some supper? I've prepared some pakora and stuffed bhindi if you're uncomfortable with meat. I can't say I've ever prepared Indian cuisine before, but I figured it was worth the attempt.

[Destruction will obviously be hanging out in the kitchen, his forearms caked with spices and flour as he continues to cook. He'll have set places anywhere there is to sit and eat, and may have cracked open several bottles of wine, which will be sitting open so they can breathe a bit. Feel free to come in and sample/complain about his cooking.]

And it's nice to meet one who's known my sister and kept his wits about him. [He laughs. He knows how it is with Delirium.] A difficult task, with how difficult it is for her to keep her wits for any length of time.

I'm sure you do, Peter. It's good that she's got mortals in her life that aren't her charges. Too much time spent among those most affected by us isn't healthy. The rest of the family doesn't always make the best of company for her, you see. Normally, we Endless prefer not to step into each other's realms if we can avoid it, so it becomes something of a chore to get any of the family to leave theirs for her sake.

[Oh gosh, that smells interesting. She's a little wary about entering the kitchen after discovering her loss, but her curiosity wins out over her wariness. Jane's just going to peer in curiously and wonder what this odd man is doing preparing all this odd food.]

[Destruction had just started on making another course when he spots Jane enter the kitchen, he waves her over with a smile on his face.]

Come on in! There's plenty here if you're hungry, though I think wine probably isn't an appropriate companion for your meal. Have any preferences?

[She didn't expect to be invited in, and she is kind of hungry. You get a smile.]

Well, thank you for the offer, sir!

[She comes to sit in a place relatively close to where he's cooking and looks at the food.] Might I ask, though...what is all of this?

You're most welcome, m'dear. I figure if I can be of no other use around here, I can cook. I enjoy it, and people get a little variety in their diets, so it all works out.

[He gestures to the platter piled high with fried fish.]

Well, that's pakora, it's a traditional Indian dish of spiced fried white fish. Some people like to go the vegetarian route, making them into vegetable fritters, but that's what the bhindi is for. It's okra leaves stuffed with spices, and served over rice.

I realize it's all a little exotic for most in the castle, but I thought it might be worth trying.

Pakora is a traditional bit of Indian cuisine. It's a fried fish dish. Bhindi on the other hand is a spicy stuffed okra dish traditionally served with rice, which I'm making now.

I'm glad you think so. There's plenty to go around, so if you're hungry, just come down to the kitchen and help yourself.

Well, Pakora is battered and deep-fried white fish. Bhindi is okra stuffed with spices and served over rice. A little spicy for the palates of most, but I figured I'd give them a try.

[A pause here, because he's not quite sure what else to say to someone who freely and openly admits to being Destruction. He's seen too much of war to be entirely comfortable with that.]

Ahh, I must have missed his presence in my search of the journal. He's never been one to be tied to much of anything but his duty.

[In his defense, he only keeps claim on the title of Destruction to keep it from falling into someone else's hands. He's seen and caused too much of it to want anyone else to be burdened as he was.]

It's okra stuffed with spices, and cooked in a sauce of tomato, cumin, onions, green chile, and ginger. It's a bit spicy, but very tasty.

So I've been reading. I believe Dream was the last? I hope he was helpful. Daniel seemed a tad uncomfortable the last I saw him, hadn't quite accepted the mantle of Dream in it's entirety. Not that I can blame him.
