[ino's pretty much just making her way out of the clinic and heading down the stairs to leave the castle. oh! but she'll stop to pop into the kitchen for a small snack before she heads back into town. an apple, maybe? or hmm, maybe a pear ... she'll just be pondering the many choices this basket of fruit has to offer]

Whatever we're needed for. Lower ranks usually have to do more like chores ... pulling weeds and cleaning and stuff. Once you're a higher rank like me, it's more like ... infiltration, gathering information, bodyguarding ... that kind of thing.

It can be. Or it can be horribly boring. [a little laugh] But we get paid pretty well, so.

[amused] No? Aren't the rewards pretty high for the dangerous people?

Yeah. But the expenses you rack up to catch them tend to knock down the profit. [Property damage, medical expenses... usual stuff.] And half the time there will be some loophole that gets them out of paying the reward.

A loophole! How can they do that?

[Right? Spike's dead back home, but he can still hold his resentment about it. Bounty hunters got a bad rap.]

They can pretty much get away with whatever they want. It wasn't the most honest system.

That's stupid. If you did the work then you should be compensated.

You'd think so. [Then there were all the times they accidentally killed the bounty heads before turning them in... that's usually where they get you.]

We got by anyway.

By now I'd probably be able to provide for myself totally at home, but before I got here, I was still living with my dad. So I guess I was lucky, there.

Yeah. [lucky for you, spike, she hates it when people think she's younger than she actually is, so she'll clarify] I was sixteen when I got here, but I'm twenty-one now. But since I've been here the whole time, I've never gotten to take the test to get promoted or anything ... [sigh :(]

Besides napping? [His favorite, truth be told.] The usual stuff. Somehow I find a lot of time for recreation.
