...this certainly isn't the Town Hall.
[A young man, roughly in his early twenties, has just wandered into the lobby. For all intents and purposes, it looks as though he's come in from outdoors like any normal person would, but in reality, he has opened the door to the Town Hall of a small farming village, walked through it, and entered a castle.]
I suppose I won't be playing the Music Festival after all. Hm.
[He shrugs, stops in the middle of the lobby, and--after adjusting and preparing and tuning for a moment--starts to play his violin here in the castle instead.]

He wanted to cry, almost. The music was good, beautiful even, and it made him ache because he could not touch the violin. Not that he knew what it was, but it made him think of his lute, his calloused fingers aching to touch strings and knowing he could not.
So he took what pleasure he could in good music and watched him play with half-lidded eyes, listening and absorbing the sound. At least the Castle had not taken this from him.]

...hello.

I did not mean to be a bother. I just enjoy music whenever I can find it.

[He smiles and bows.]
My name is Mikhail.

[He held out his hand for the other to shake, offering a quiet smile.]
You play nicely.
no subject
Thank you, sir. Do you play?

[There is a touch of sadness in his voice at that, almost actual pain.]

[He's nothing if not polite, so although the talking pony is very curious to him, he bites back the desire to ask more about how such a thing can exist.]
Were you... enjoying the music?
