[Carolina barely opens her journal before she launches into her spiel. Her voice is much brighter than her usual militaristic tone.]

I'm planning to head out hiking this afternoon with anyone interested to learn a little about the relative wild. We'll be back in time for dinner and showing off anything we found out in the woods.

I'm sleeping outside in a tent. [Called from where she's in the kitchen.] York, you're not invited.

In that case, I'll fill the bed with snails. Maybe a couple snakes. Mind if I join you outside?

[Carolina chuckles brightly.] We'll have a sleepover, no boys allowed.

I like this idea. Please tell me there will be s'mores and hair braiding and scary stories of ex-boyfriends.
