004 Summons ❈ Action ❈ Backdated to the morning of Vacation Day 4

[At some point during the previous night, Sheena had come to a decision regarding her family. She had seen just how tired and haggard Ino and Zelos looked, and felt guilty for not being there anymore to help them with the younger members. Yes, she had married and left to start a family of her own, but after everything they had done for everyone, she felt they deserved a break. Besides, she loved kids, and it had been a long time since she had spent a lot of time with Kirby and Lloyd, and if she was lucky, she might even see Spike.

So, that morning, the first thing she did upon seeing Zelos was to practically kick him out of the cabin, telling him to take the day off and have some fun, and not to come back until late. She wrote the same thing on a piece of paper and quietly slipped it into Ino's hand (Whether or not her sis followed the directive was another story.)

Meanwhile, Sheena sat down and made one plan while waiting for the rest of the family to awaken:

[Sheena feels you're old enough to take care of yourself, Nora. Although, she hopes to be able to talk to you sometime today.]

[Eventually she does wake up. She stumbles out into the main part of the cabin, raking her fingers through her hair.]

Sup, Sheena?

[Sheena gives the girl a smile.]

Not much. What's up with you?

Oh, you know, the usual. Stuck on a stupid-ass vacation like the rest of the family. [she smirks]

Oh, so you feel stuck with everyone?

[Sheena's been enjoying it--with two exceptions.]

Where would you rather be?

[She shrugs] I dunno. Somewhere with Mark, maybe. I mean, it's nice to see people but I could've done without the camping.

[ninjainviolet]

Can you think of anyplace else, big enough to not only hold this family, but keep us all separated at the same time?

[Smiles.] So how are things going with Mark?

Yeah, yeah, I know. [She rolls her eyes. At the mention of her fiance she grins, flopping onto a nearby chair]

It's great! I'm just so happy when I'm with him, you know?

Yeah, I do know.

[Eyes the ring and points.]

I'm guessing someone wasn't too happy about that, though, was he? [A certain red-head?]

[Not judging you, Nora.]

[She rolls her eyes]

No. He's happy that Mark asked for permission but he still thinks we're too young. But you know what? It's not his life.

[Sheena chuckles at her reaction.]

No, it's not his life, but he's a bit overprotective, you know. Plus, he has to remember you're not a little girl anymore.

[Not to mention to back away some and trust Nora a little.]

I know, right? 'sides, Ino wasn't that much older when she got married.

[Lifts her own left hand to let her rings glitter in the light.]

Same here. I'm only nineteen, remember?

Exactly! [She makes a face] I think he's just worried about having to watch Dad and Kirby by himself.

I think with Uncle Cross it's more of a feeling of frustration concerning him. [Tough being more mature than your own father.]

And I can always watch Poyo if he wants--whenever he wants. [Kaabii's her brother, too!]

[ Kirby was out stuffing his face for breakfast, but when he ran back into the cabin, he saw Sheena sitting down. ]

Sheena! Poyo! [ he would greet enthusiastically, forgetting about the possible sleeping people in the cabin as he ran to go see her. ]

[Sheena holds out her arms for her brother a huge smile on her face.] Poyo!

Guess what, Kaabii? We're going to spend all day together!

[chubbycreampuff]

[ Oooh, really? Kirby brightens up, jumping into her arms for a hug. ]

Poyoyo!! [ he squirms already, excited to get started. What are they going to do!? ]

[Hugs him close.]

Whatever you want to do, little bro, we're going to do--play, swim, you name it!

How's that sound?

[Spike's always up early, he's never really been able to sleep in late. So he's up and on the search for DELICIOUS BREAKFAST]

[And in his search, he'll discover one long missing relative sitting off to the side.]

Yo, Spike!

[Sheena gets a BIG smile]

Oh hey there Sheena!

[ninjainviolet]

[She returns that smile and gets up. She's just gotta hug him hello.]

How are you doing?

[Awww yes HUGS]

I'm doing great. This whole week has been so much fun.

[ninjainviolet]

[Hugs him tight.]

Glad to hear it. Up for doing more?

You better believe I am!

All right. What do you want to do first?

We can try the town, see what stores are there other than the ice cream one.

Why am I not surprised you found the ice cream store?

[Which she had to fight visiting thanks to an overactive sweet tooth.]

I can smell them out like a bloodhound.

[Sheena laughs.]

I'm not sure that's a good thing or a bad thing.

But, let's get going so we can see what else we can find.

I'd call it a great thing! But yes please! It'll be fun.

All right! All right! [She holds her hands up in mock surrender and heads for the door with a smile.]

Since this is your day, you get to pick where you want to go to first.

Ice cream, as if it was even a choice.

[ninjainviolet]

I didn't think it would be. [She laughs as she herds him out the door and towards the car.]

Besides, I think I might like to try it.

[The place is silent... except for a tiny belch. And in comes a three year old with no shirt or pants, just underwear, covered head to toe in what appears to be chocolate syrup. Someone didn't lock up the fridge properly, so Lloyd has been feeding himself.

Oh hey, that's someone he sort of recognizes. He toddles over for a hug. His stomach hurts too much to run. LOL]

[Sheena turns at the unexpected sound in the eerily quiet cabin, and a look not exactly of horror passes over her face when she sees Lloyd.]

Lloyd! What in the world?

[She can't help it, but she starts laughing as she ignores the sticky mess and picks him up gently. He's not looking too good right now.]

How about we get you all washed up in some nice cool water? Then we can spend the day together?

[Right after she locks up the fridge.]
