I feel like something strange happened a while ago...but I'm not really sure what it was. I remember being able to see, though. 

It's kind of weird, isn't it?  Maybe the castle did something again.  But whatever it was, I'm glad to be back.

Well, it's nice to meet you, Emil. I'm Phoenix, but you can call me Nick.

If your name's Phoenix, why do people call you Nick?

[He laughs at that.]

It's kind of dumb, isn't it? It's because "Phoenix" sounds like...

[This he makes a point of pronouncing separately and distinctly.]

"fee nicks"

...so it comes from the "Nick" sound in "Phoenix." I don't really remember where I picked it up, though.

Oh! I get it now!

It's one of those silly things that just sort of stuck. I can't remember a time when I wasn't "Nick" to somebody.

I think it's a nice name.

Well, thank you, Emil. You're the first "Emil" I've ever met. Where I'm from, people have some peculiar names sometimes.

Like... "Ini Miney."
