[ For a few minutes, Lucy sits at her table in her room, staring at the papers in front of her. She didn't know how long it was she'd been staring at it, pen in hand, but was that really that important? Writer's block -sucks. But as often as she writes about her adventures with Fairy Tail, HOW IN THE HELL WAS SHE GOING TO WRITE ABOUT this?

She can't. She just can't. She balls up the papers, shredding them into tiny pieces and tosses them into a trash can, huffy, face flushed. Then she grabs the book given to her when she arrived in Paradisa. ]

N-Ne - guys um... tell me... that sort of thing, what happened all of last week... I don't for a second believe any of that was real but...I --

It... doesn't happen a lot, right?

[ Action! ]
[ Maybe... getting some fresh air will help clear her head. As embarrassing as it was to admit, the bed felt curiously empty and cold when it was just her. Oh god did she get used to sleeping with Natsu? ... ohgod what is her life?

Either way, Lucy would be found outside the castle (or in the castle wandering the halls like a lost soul on her way outside), doing her level best to NOT think about the last week. Or any feels attached to it. fkjl;agha STUPID CASTLE. She'd kick you but she'd only hurt her foot. ~~Not that it stopped her.~~ YES A WALK IS JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED. ]

[Hellboy is walking around too! Like he does. This girl looks pretty distracted though, so he does his best to ensure she doesn't walk into him.]

[ SWEET EDOLAS WHAT -- uh... Lucy somehow doesn't shriek in surprise, but she she does stare for a second or two. It's probably due to her distraction and upset that she doesn't freak out like she normally would because that... is a big guy. When she finds her voice, she smiles weakly in apology. ]

Er... yes I... I'm fine. I'm just... I just felt like getting out of my room for some fresh air!

[ Yep yep, she didn't just get murdered by feels and hurt her best friend's feelings in turn. Actually talking to someone else about anything else was vastly preferable. ]

[He's gotten used to the staring by now, so it doesn't even faze him...

But now he's not sure if she looks like that because she's unwell or because she's freaked out! LIFE IS HARD.]

I've been here about a year and a half. But sometimes people overlook me somehow. Maybe I just need to get out more.

No way, you've been here that long!? [ That's kind of alarming - what if she's here that long? ...well it ... won't be as bad as long as she's not alone, but right now... ]

I don't know how people could overlook you. You're... [ RED. ] Huge!

Eheh. I guess - I should get out more myself. I'm not used to being in a place where I don't have to take missions in order to pay rent.

[He chuckles a little. It was a joke! He was joking.]

Missions?

[ FKgh RIGHT, Joke! She smiles, nodding at the question. ]

Requests from locals in the city for help from the mages of Fairy Tail, like me and... and Natsu. They usually range from simple things like finding missing items to more difficult ones, like defeating bandits. And then there are the S-Ranked requests.

So you're kind of like a private detective.

[But "S-Ranked"...] Does the "S" stand for "Special"?

A private detective? I don't... know that I would call it quite that exactly... [ Well maybe in some ways? She accepts it at that, and nods at the latter question. ]

Right! Only a handful of mages are cleared to go on S-Class missions, because they're so dangerous.

Magical private detective, then.

[ She'll... go with that for now. It was close enough anyway. ]

What about you? Do you have anything like the guilds where you're from? What ... do you do there?

I've been unemployed for a few years, but I was a paranormal investigator for a long time. I worked for a place called the Bureau, though I'm not sure how close it is to your guilds.

That depends - how does your Bureau operate, exactly? It might be similar.

It was a private organization, so it wasn't under the jurisdiction of a government. Though we got funding from a few different governments, so we sort of had to play favorites sometimes, but that sort of political stuff is beyond me.

We had a director, and then a whole slew of field agents. And the field agents had handlers and superiors, that kind of thing. Aside from field agents, there were researchers, bookkeepers, scientists ... you name it.

It's... not -terribly- different from Fairy Tail. Only we have just one superior- or Master of the Guild, Master Makarov. He's the only one to have any dealings of political nature, meeting with the council every so often.

[ Of course said council was usually complaining about Fairy Tail's members being distructive coughNatsucoughGraycoughErza. ]

For the most part we're able to stay fairly independent, and just take the guild requests we feel we are best suited for - like the private detective as you said.

Yeah, that sounds pretty similar. Is everyone in your organization a field agent? [She ... might not know what that means, so he quickly adds:] I mean, do they all go on investigations, or do you have some people who stay at your base all the time?

Yeah - the guild is never completely empty, actually. Either it's because some of the teams are taking a break from a mission, or waiting for a mission to come in.

Then of course, there's the Master, and Mira-chan - she's an S-class mage too, but she doesn't often go out on missions - she's usually helping out Master Makarov in the guild. So really there's always a few people there.

So Mira is his assistant? [Or assistant director or something ... assistant master? No, that's weird.]

Right - it's not exactly official but she does help the Master out in that capacity.

Well, it makes sense. We have secretaries and things like that where I'm from to take care of paperwork and whatever else.
