Filtered away from York and anyone that might tip him off

So hey, you guys know York. I knew him as youngish-not-much-older-than-me York. I just found out he's freaking 40, as in ancient-old-man York. And no one threw him a party. For anyone not from my universe, this is the kind of situation that calls for an Over The Hill party. That means a lot of black, a lot of tombstones, [Right, South, like that won't totally be in bad taste] and old man gifts, like canes and hemorrhoid cream.

So, who's with me?

[South's chilling in the lobby while she's waiting for replies, lounging in a chair with her boots up on a coffee table, helmet just beside. Bother the ornery Freelancer?]

Yup. Fifteen minutes or less. [Glancing at a clock, because it's already been nearly twice that.] I got a lot of practice in it, though.

Since it's your ... what was that, safety blanket? [She teases.] So, am I all in now? Anything else to clamp onto my body?

Thighs, shins, boots and gloves, then helmet. But I need to tinker with that, first. [She sets the various pieces near to her and then sits down with the helmet.]

[Johanna just slowly sits down, poking at the armor while South does whatever she's doing.]

It's lighter then it looks.

Yeah, it's not bad, right? You need help with the legs or anything?

[Nods.]

Let me try it first. [She's going to try! aaaaand take like 15 minutes to do it.]

[That's fine, South tries not to laugh as she uses that time to finish her work tweaking the helmet.]

[Johanna just flicks her ear when she laughs too hard.]

This is just really weird. [she wiggles her fingers.]

Weird for you, home for me. [She stands and hands over the helmet.] Here you go, put it on and give it a try.

[What she hasn't told Johanna is that she's tweaked the audio to sound like herself.]

[Johanna warily puts it over her head. CONFINING MUCH?!] This looks REALLY ... Hey, why do I sound like you?

[South smirks.] Voice modulation. Standard issue. We're enough of the same size that no one's going to know the difference unless you do something dumb.

[You can't see it, but she's SMIRKING.]

This could be really fun.

[Okay, this is a little creepy. South can't help quirk an eyebrow.]

Just don't have too much fun. I'm probably going to get in a ton of shit just for letting you play around in it.

Yeeeeah, that's not going to happen. That's not really my specialty.

[AAHAHA yeah and she still manages to fuck it up.]

Yep, boring. [She just starts moving around in the suit, just seeing how it feels.]

So what kind of things can I do?

I already told you; strength, blah blah blah. [South shakes her head.] You know what makes the suit effective? It's the soldier in it.

[Possibly a bit bragging,] You're not going to be able to utilize it like I do, because you don't have the training I do.

Blah blah blah. [Only later on would Johanna find out how important training really is. BUT that's for later. For now Johanna is just walking around some more.]
