[spongetastic]

One of the first things I did when I got here was say I could pretend to be someone's brother. Since then, it's like this place really is trying to get me to be an older brother.

Building new families... hm.

[she's probably noticed how he's been quietly digesting the recent family reunion. When he turns to her now, there is a determined light in his eyes]

Hey, you in the mood for the beach? I was thinking we could go this week.

[She immediately brightens as she smiles at him. She'd been worried but wasn't about to press him to talk about it.]

I think that's a fantastic idea.

[spongetastic]

[he reaches out for her]

Then it's a date.

[kungfuwitch]

[She goes to him, wrapping her arms around his waist]

Just like our first.

[spongetastic]

That was kind of the idea. [he slides an arm around her gently] You know that was over a year ago?

[kungfuwitch]

[She smiles up at him, her eyes full of the love she feels for him.]

It's hard to believe.

[spongetastic]

Mmhm. [gently combs his fingers through her air] So I was thinking we could go to the beach as a kind of anniversary thing.

[kungfuwitch]

[she sighs happily, one hand rubbing his back.]

That sounds absolutely perfect. We could even bring some food and a bottle of wine.

[spongetastic]

I like the way you think.

[kungfuwitch]

[She smirks, giving him a playful look.] Well I'd hope so after over a year.

[spongetastic]

[smiles back] And more to come, I hope.

[kungfuwitch]

Many more. [She goes up on her toes to brush a soft kiss against his lips.]

[spongetastic]

[he lets out a slow breath. It's a relief to hear her say that]

Sorry if I've been a little quiet lately. There was a lot to think about.

[kungfuwitch]

[she smiles]

It's okay. I thought as much. I absolutely understand, sweetie.

[spongetastic]

I liked having a sister. [he smiles then]

[kungfuwitch]

[She returns that smile with one of her own, though hers is a little sad.]

Me, too. It makes me miss my own sisters but I think it would have been harder if it was anyone else.

[spongetastic]

[he loses his smile a little too. Phoebe's stronger than he is. He couldn't have handled a fake brother]

This place... I don't know if I'll ever understand it.

[kungfuwitch]

[She stays strong so she can help everyone else. She knows things happen for a reason... Even if she doesn't completely understand what it is. She shakes her head.]

I won't, either. But I don't think we're meant to.

[spongetastic]

[kisses her forehead]

I think understanding this is all I need.

[kungfuwitch]

[She smiles and holds him close.]
