[After everything that happened over the last few weeks, Danny had been doing some thinking.  It had been months since there's been any need for him to fight.  With the way his life usually ran he knew that wouldn't last for long.

...Which meant he needed to train in a way that didn't involve finding ghosts to fight.  How did you do that anyway?

But even if he didn't know how to start training for real, he figured he could start the same way he had at home.  With testing the current level of his abilities.

Okay, this might be a bit of a longshot.  But does anyone know where I could borrow a radar gun?  I don't really want to try wishing one up for obvious reasons.

They're for measuring speeds, and it really doesn't look like there's that many cars around. And you definitely don't look like a cop.

I'd say that you could probably get one in town, but considering no one around here actually drives, I actually have my doubts on that one.

That could also be a problem. Ever considered making one of your own?

Wouldn't be much point to it if someone had one I could borrow.

[He shrugs.] I guess I could. I definitely picked up enough about stuff like that from helping Dad. But again, means finding the parts.

No kidding? What kind of things did your dad make anyways? Personally? I'm thinking parts would be easier to buy than the completed product. But again there's that whole issue with money.

Yeah... Sounds like I'm going to just have to come up with some other way of figuring speed.

[He makes a face.] I hate math.

I could probably whip something up for you, if you get me the right parts. I'll admit, I'm more a chemist than a technology guy, but considering the number of how-to books in the library I could figure it out.

It's more of a serious thing than it sounds? I mean, Mom and Dad used to be the town crackpots. Then the ghosts showed up. And it turned out all their gadgets actually worked.

...Okay, they're still the town crackpots. But ones who were right.
