( uno )

[ the journal picks up a thick Italian accented voice, murmuring excitedly. whatever he's saying isn't really understandable though. there's the sound of flipping pages and then he speaks up again, clearly reading something aloud.

in fact, for those who read the journals frequently, and especially in the past few days, what he's reading may sound familiar.

yeah, it definitely sounds like he's reading entries from the journal aloud. so if you've made a journal entry in the past couple of days? chances are, you're hearing it read back to you in an excited Italian accent.
]

How marvelous! All of these different entries -- I would love to [ he starts mumbling now ] get to know the authors. Perhaps they could help me understand this strange new place.

[ and back to journal entry reading he goes.

meanwhile, he's walking everywhere through the castle, still completely immersed in reading the journal. out loud.

yep.

Not to be rude, but: this wouldn't happen to be Leonardo DaVinci speaking, would it....?

Your reputation, in all honesty. Both as an artist and a uniquely gifted inventor, if I may say so. I'm the Doctor, though if that's a bit too general for you, you're welcome to call me Lakare, as some of my dearest friends here do.

I'll answer as many as I can, absolutely. ... As for how I know you, well. You may or may not find this tough to swallow, depending on how many people you've spoken to, but. Well.

[ahem.] I'm from rather far along in your future.

Well, there are a number of ways. The two most applicable here are that this castle takes people from all points along their respective timelines, and that, well - you're speaking to someone who's spent hundreds of years traveling time, himself.

I do, yes. I've had a good deal of experience with it, so - feel free to ask me anything that might come to mind. My ship, the TARDIS ... she's here as well, though I'm afraid she can't go very far at all.

Well, she's more an exception to the rule, being sentient and all. And... forgive me, but does what apply, exactly?
