[ the journal picks up a thick Italian accented voice, murmuring excitedly. whatever he's saying isn't really understandable though. there's the sound of flipping pages and then he speaks up again, clearly reading something aloud.

in fact, for those who read the journals frequently, and especially in the past few days, what he's reading may sound familiar.

yeah, it definitely sounds like he's reading entries from the journal aloud. so if you've made a journal entry in the past couple of days? chances are, you're hearing it read back to you in an excited Italian accent. ]

How marvelous! All of these different entries -- I would love to [ he starts mumbling now ] get to know the authors. Perhaps they could help me understand this strange new place.

[ and back to journal entry reading he goes.

meanwhile, he's walking everywhere through the castle, still completely immersed in reading the journal. out loud.

yes im from a planet called alternia
which was in a whole other universe than earth although still connected to it in several significant ways
but yeah ezio told me about you i think!
he was very adamant about not calling you da vinci though because its a place name
so itd be like calling me aradia da alternia which just sounds silly

Mmn, yes. Vinci is my hometown, the place I grew up. Ezio is Ezio Auditore da Firenze as he is from Firenze. I do not know why it has caught on in this way, but I do not mind. [ though he will not hesitate on just leonardo. still, no need to emphasize why he doesn't use a last name. ]

alternia revolves around a very bright very hot sun so most of its animal life is nocturnal
it has two moons one green and one pink
the dominant species was called trolls of which i am one

sure!
we are called trolls but we probably dont look like any trolls from your folklore
we have grey skin and horns but otherwise we arent too different in appearance from humans
as i mentioned previously we are nocturnal
our blood comes in all different colors which was the basis of our caste system
like mine is red but other friends of mine have yellow or green or purple blood or what have you
and uhh what else
oh! we are raised by animals called lusii instead of by members of our own species
thats something that surprises a lot of people
