[Something's been nagging Sheena for a while, and upon awakening this morning, she finally realizes what it is

The Weather.

So, taking her brush in hand, she writes her question (since she'd probably look less stupid than if she spoke it.]

I've been wondering. Except for that room in the castle, does the weather ever change around here?

No, not just then. It was just something really memorable because it didn't stop for a whole month.

We've had autumn and winter here too. Just give it a few months and you'll probably see the leaves changing colors.

Autumn is awesome! Especially if you get huge leaf piles and jump in.

Okay! How long until the leaves start to change color?

I donno, it depends. It usually happens around September or October, but Paradisa's got it's own timetable. The leaves could change tomorrow for all it cares.

Okay. Wait a second. Are you saying that they can turn tomorrow or not at all?

[She's gotta chuckle at that.]

Well, yeah. It is magic. It can skip straight from summer to winter if it wants.

Well, that's not fair! Those leaves better change now that I'm looking forward to this jumping thing.

Hm. I wonder what would happen if we all just asked the castle for it to be autumn?

Sure we could, but I don't think we should.

[She hadn't been a victim of the castle's last attempt to redeem payment for wishes, so she has no clue what the price may be.]

A price? You mean like when you first get here and the castle takes something?

The more I hear about other worlds, the more I believe that people--good or bad--really aren't that different after all.
