9 ⓢ birthday
[Clark liked their new house.
Sure, it would take getting used to -- the creaks here or there, the funny little quirks they didn't notice when they viewed it, things like that. But with most of their belongings moved over, the place was well on its way to being more home than house, and Clark was more than happy to see it develop that way, even if Chris' absence still hung over them gloomily. Knowing they'd see him again wasn't half as reassuring as they'd hoped.
For the time being, though, Clark was trying to push that from his mind, in favour of more light-hearted things. With Lois upstairs in bed, no doubt waiting for him, he wandered around the myriad of unpacked boxes, scanning them, trying to find where a certain something got lost in the shuffle. After a good bit of hunting and a quick trip to the castle (as well as a few shouts from upstairs about "what was keeping him") he finally found it.
Lois' birthday gift, in a box whose size suggested that it was a fountain pen or jewelry box or something of that sort.
Little box in hand, he crept up the stairs to the master bedroom and sat down on the edge of the bed, box held oh-so-subtly behind him, out of her direct line of sight. He couldn't help but smile.]
Only a few minutes until your birthday officially starts, you know.

Really? I hadn't even noticed. [ uh huh ]

No? Well, it could always wait until morning... or even dinner. Give you something to look forward to.

Just as a foreword... this one's a little unique, even for me. I was originally going to give you this as a wedding present, but with how busy we were around then, I thought it would be better for your birthday.

Well, for you, it would be, but I still remember a fair bit of demanding I snap out of it.
[He lets her have the box.]
Either way, at the time, even with my memories all messed up, I still made it with the intention of it being a wedding gift.

I figured you'd do that, so no.

[He just watches, feeling a little nervous, strangely enough.
What she'll find inside, of course, is a neatly-folded spandex costume... and right underneath it, cradled in a protective groove in the bottom of the box, a crystal vial full of brightly glowing gold liquid.
He is not sure what kind of reaction he's going to get from this one.]

[He leans back on one hand and smiles. How to phrase this?]
That vial carries the genetic code that gives me my powers. In the simplest terms... If you drink that, you'll have my powers for twenty-four hours. All of them. Superwoman in a bottle.

You're saying... all of them? The whole Kryptonian package in... energy drink form?
no subject
Yeah... and the super-finesse to go along with it and control them all.

Do you trust you with it?

Attagirl...
[But a touch more seriously:]
I just have one little request about using it, if that's okay.
