[A pause]
So, do I want to know how you realised this?

[ If you were expecting a tale of cleaning a cat for the cat, you are mistaken. ]

[There's a pause here.]
Tried sleeping with your mouth shut?

... Joke, your words.

[Okay, he wasn't expecting that.]
Sorry.

[ actioning it up? ]
So down to the kitchen he went, padding in in his soft boots, a long green tunic, and soft doe-skin trousers. He blinked when he spied a familiar head of silver, careful to make more noise for the other as he approached.]
Need some help, Duke?
[ Oh dear, action! ]
... Someone seems to have re-organized the kitchen. [ And... he makes a habit of not wishing for things he can usually find. ]
[ action it up!]
[He wanted to offer help, but he knew Duke was capable on his own, and he had no wish to impede on the other's independence or treat him any differently.]
[ action it up!]
Tea. Although suppose a mug for hot water would suit just as well...
.... Will need the second, regardless... [ Aha! This seems the right area for cups. ]
[ action it up!]
[He went to another cupboard and looked inside.]
It seems we have quite a few. I prefer mint, personally, but there's Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Moroccan, Chamomile, Honeydew...
[ action it up!]
Why are there so many different kinds? Give him a moment of just feeling cups, looking for the ones with handles. Duke needs to try to figure out what he usually drinks.
Mint sounds closest. But Chamomile sounds familiar - an herb?
doesn't that one raise m.atk...]Mint sounds the most familiar...
[ action it up!]
All right then, mint it is.
[He took down the box and took out two packets.]
Can you find the kettle?
[ action it up!]
Likely, although may take some time. [ He would hang his up, but he's not sure of the kitchen did that, or had it tucked in a cabinet...
It may take him a minute or so. and some clanking of pots and pans before he finds one. ]
Re: [ action it up!]
I'll get it started, shall I?
[ action it up!]
And he will really need to get used to people touching him. He keeps his reaction to a pause in releasing the kettle. ]
... I shall.... [ Absently tilting his head.
... He's not entirely sure what he could do. ]
Re: [ action it up!]
[He did not want to feel sympathy for Duke. He doubted the other would appreciate it, and he knew many people worked just fine without the aid of limbs or eyes or tongue.
He was just getting used to a changed kitchen.
But still, no sense in letting the other potentially burn himself.]
[ action it up!]
.... Are the biscuits already out? [ He means on the counter, but he'll carefully take steps to find a different cabinet and search for those plates he remembered finding. ]
Re: [ action it up!]
[He winced a bit, seeing the other fumble, but he told himself not to pity, to let Duke work it out for himself.]
[ action it up!]
Obviously the answer is with magic, after one of the boxes tries to make an escape. Duke focuses and connects a formula from his hand to the box, preventing it from hitting the floor, and giving it a place to return to.
He'll just put everything on the table now. ]
Re: [ action it up!]
Your magic is interesting, Duke.
[ action it up!]
Aware that the ways I use tend to be considered odd, unaware that.. magic would be considered odd. [ At least, no one has told him that yet. ]

He'll just have to get used to it. ]
I have not... been read to, in some time. [ Perhaps a little awkward sounding. He's having to swallow some self-sufficiency here. It's not particularly easy. ]
... the help... would be welcome. [ And he's going to focus on those biscuits now. ]
