ten breaks of the stone
This carnival reminds me of the Mournish back home. So much food and colorful amusements, though they did not have all these machines. Perhaps they will someday. They are...a resourceful people.
If you wish to partake, I recommend moderation. Some of these foods look...dangerous.
[Away from the murderer and any of his allies]
I may also remind you all that there is a murderer still on the loose in this city. A large amount of people may prove an opportunity for the fiend to locate another victim. Large crowds can be more of a blind than a boon.
Has there yet been any clue as to the perpetrator? Perhaps it would help to compile any evidence and come to a plan.
[Despite his warning, the knight is wandering along the edge of the carnival grounds, gazing at the food carts with a solemn but subtly interested look in his eyes]

Nay, I am afraid I have yet to find the courage to taste those treats. Instead, I have simply fallen into the habit of napping throughout the day.

It seems you were profitable elsewhere, however...

Persistence may be key, as thou hast said. [he gets a slightly hopeful look] Hast thou seen mine regalia?

I have not. Why? ...Was it stolen?

I am uncertain. I honestly do not believe I have misplaced them, but I also do not see any reason why anypony else would wish to possess them. They have no magical properties [other than the inherent sparkles] and their value is mostly historical.
[ponies seem to see jewelry more as decoration than as having an inherent monetary value in and of itself - i.e. go outside and dig around and voila, you can start your very own gem cache!]

Ah, but they would seem a treasure to many, my lady. I will keep an eye out for them, if you like.

It's fortunate you replied, Konoe. I wished to ask a favor of you. I am going to be going with the expedition team in a few days, and I hoped to find someone to keep an eye on Miss Maudie.

...ah, a favor of me? If I can help you in any way, of course! Who is Miss Maudie?

[There's a pause.]
She looks like a cat? I'd be honored to look after her.

My room is number 1715. Most everything you require will be there. I will attempt to provide a supply enough food for the week for her. She is very...temperamental...about what she will accept.
