[Catelyn has reached a state of near panic. It’s not unusual for Arya to disappear for a time. Cat had learned that it was best to give her space. But she always reported in. Because Arya knew Catelyn would worry if she didn’t. So when Arya doesn’t check in, she doesn’t even bother to filter. If it embarrasses Arya, perhaps she’ll speak up to make her stop. If it catches the attention of someone who knows where she is, so much the better.]

Arya Stark, you will tell me where you are this very instant.

I am well aware my daughter has been enjoying her time with you. I have no reason to see you as an enemy here. I hold nothing against you and so I have allowed it. But know that if any harm comes to her while she is under your care, you will not find me merciful or forgiving. Is this understood?

Arya's with us on the expedition. I wasn't aware that she hadn't informed her mother where she was going.

[Have an alarmed Elizabeth, because hell, Arya had been the one to tell her how these journals had worked. She's fond, so much as she's fond of so many children.]

I cannot claim to have been introduced to you, my lady, but I know your daughter. She was very kind and good to me.

But she seems a very head strong thing, perhaps she's just being as children are and has forgotten to inform you where she is going?

[He sighs]

I see. [He doesn't really want to send her back. He likes Arya, and it's not like she won't be well-protected. But...he meant what he said about liking to have allies in Paradisa, and when it comes to allies, grown women trump little girls.]

I'll of course abide by your wishes if you'd prefer we found a way to send her back, although if she refuses her wolf may become troublesome.

I didn't plan it! I forgot to tell you. Nymeria climbed into a wagon and I went in after her to get her out and then we were at the border. [ no, that is not what happened. ] I found a unicorn. He's my mount.

[ Truthfully? She had been expecting this. It was only a matter of time. ]

You needn't worry, Lady Stark, no harm will befall your daughter. She is young, innocent in the strain between our two families. I would protect her with my life.

Should I fail, I do not expect mercy or forgiveness from you. Were out positions reserved, I would be the same. [ Yet that will never be. ]

Kind and good? To a stranger? Are we talking about the same Arya Stark?

By now she's learned the truth of it and just sounds a little tired and frustrated when she answers.]

It seems she did not forget so much as she decided against it, but you have the truth of it.

You are with her? [HEY ZELOS. GUESS WHO IS GOING TO GET ROPED INTO PROTECTION DUTY?]

Yeah. Didn't realize she'd snuck along until we reached the Dead Zone. [CURSES]

[She relaxes a little at that. If she trusts no one else with her children's safety, she trusts those direwolves. And Yuan having saved Arya once already helps a great deal as well. There's a long pause while she thinks.] If you believe she will be reasonably safe, I will allow her to remain.

Do you take me for a fool? [She does not believe that for a split second, Arya.]

Nymeria is with you? And you have Needle?

[Oh, Vanyel. She just sounds tired at this point.]

Long enough to cause concern. It seems she took it upon herself to join the expedition.

No. Yes. I mean, yes, I've got Nymeria and Needle with me.

I see. Well, there are strong people out there now. I am sure she will be safe, my lady.

[And it honestly doesn't come out of any form of hostility. She honestly doesn't care about the Iron Throne anymore. She's just been through too much to trust easily, especially with something so important.]

Thank you, my lady, for your understanding. Perhaps, in time, we will know each other better and I will be more at ease.

She is too clever for her own good.

She's surrounded by capable fighters, and I'll be personally keeping an eye out for her, of course. We're moving toward the unknown; I won't insult your intelligence by swearing that she'll be entirely kept from danger, but she will be as safe here as at the castle.

So I am being reassured. [She's still far from happy about it, though.]

[She knows it's true. It's just that she's lost so much already, a part of her just wants to cling. But...this is Arya. Her fierce, brave, strong, beautiful little girl. And she can't tame her, no matter how often she's tried.]

I wish she had asked my permission. [She bites her lip.] But she can stay.

Have faith, my lady. The last few times I went out nothing overly dangerous happened. I am sure it will be the same this time.

You are impossible. Do you know what worry you have caused me? After all that has happened- [She cuts herself off. That was as difficult for Arya as it is for her. It's not right to use it against her.]
