Trick 011 | Kaito Kuroba | [ Expedition ]

[ Kaito has been far too well behaved during this trip and right now he's bored. There's nothing exciting happening so once everyone stops for a rest the magician move around the area in a circle. He pauses here and there to touch the ground or inspect braches that hang over on trees. ]

[ He won't do anything to obnoxious, everyone here is probably exhausted and ticking them off or making them lose energy would only waste time. Instead he'll settle for setting up some confetti mines-if someone steps on them confetti will shoot up into the air... bio-degradable confetti of course. ]

[ Once he's done he moves back over to a low hanging branch to sit and wait. Or talk to his neighbor, he's a friendly guy. ]

[And Clint's wandering around, looking around, keeping an eye on his surroundings...

...Which means he isn't looking where he puts his feet. A boot lands squarely on a mine...

And when it explodes, the archer instantly drops and rolls to one side, rising up and looking around after his roll, tensed, wary, one hand behind him grabbing the knife-hilt hidden at his belt.

That's when the confetti falls.]

[ You have any idea how hard it is to keep a straight face when someone has that kind of reaction? ]

I don't think there's any need for weapons.

[He hasn't drawn the knife yet. Not yet, but he's going to have to choose another hiding place for it.]

I don't think there's any need to be laying traps.

I wouldn't call it a trap. It's just confetti.

[Confetti which he's now dusting off himself.]

Was there a point at all?

[ He just shrugs ]

I was bored. Wanted something to do.

The puns... make me stop the puns.

And you couldn't have thought of something more productive?

[Annoyed hawk is annoyed. This has really ruffled his feathers.]

[Conan spots one of the traps on a walk around the camp and stoops down to examine it. It doesn't take long to identify it's purpose. Or the perpetrator, given his location.]

Is this really necessary?

[ ... you're not going to ruin it, are you? ]

[ Kaito just shrugs as he munches on some jelly beans he stored in one of his pockets. ]

It's extremely necessary, I was bored.

....want a jelly bean? [ He offers the bag to Conan. ]

[He's debating that. Is defusing these traps worth the headache of dealing with a resentful Kid for the rest of the trip?]

You should have brought a book to read.

[He sighs and takes a jelly bean.]

If anyone asks, I'm pointing them straight at you.

[ Probably not. ]

Why would I do that? Books are for inside, there's a high chance it'd get ruined on an expedition like this. Besides, I don't know that I'd have room to fit it anywhere.

[ He takes another jelly bean and holds the bag back out incase Conan wants another. ]

I would ask for evidence but I think I know better than to tempt you with that.

Yet you had room for the confetti. [And supplies for numerous other tricks, he expected.]

What kind of Magician would I be if I didn't pack confetti? [ and other numerous tricks. ]

Yeaup. That's why I'm not asking for it. That's your favorite part isn't? 'Where's your proof?'

[ taking another as well. ]

[River had seen him out of the corner of her eye. She'd noticed him out and about, but had been otherwise occupied up until the moment she chose to approach him]

[ He's not startled, even if it may have seemed that he let his guard down he's been on edge the whole time. ]

Sure, why not. I like being out doors.

[That didn't sound like sarcasm to her, so she settled near him]

Me too! I just love being outdoors, going on adventures and expeditions.

Never get to do do whole lot of it back home-there's only so much to be explored in Tokyo. I just like a fool ole fashion adrenaline rush.

Can't blame you there. Being trapped in the Castle and surrounding area hasn't been very exciting either.

Yeah but, at least you get all the ice cream you you want.

[Jane's just walking around, exploring the area a little, and her gaze falls on a bit of overturned dirt. Curious, she goes over and hesitantly pokes it with her spoon.

BLAM CONFETTI]

AAAAAAAUUUUUGH!

[She falls back on her bottom and degrades into half cries of surprise, half laughter as the confetti rains down on her.]

[ The Magician responsible is just grinning as he watches-finally the kind of reaction he was hoping for. ]

[The surprise wears off as it's replaced by laughter. She didn't think she'd get pranked out here, but she's loving it!]

[ Better than yelling at him, that's for sure. ]

[ Since things seem safe he'll hop off his tree branch and wander over. ]
