[huntersdaughter]

[The pages can be heard flipping open quickly and an exhale comes across first. Her hair gets swept out of her face as she sets the journal open on the surface of the bar. The clink of glasses in the background is muted, but still present.]

Before I get started, I wanted to let everyone know that Bonnie Bennett has returned home. So did Elena Gilbert. I didn't really know Elena and maybe Bonnie mentioned it earlier, but when I was looking for Bonnie I went to ask Elena and - nope. Not there.

Of course, this means that I'm still hiring at the Lux.

[A beat]

Let's be honest, I'm always hiring at the Lux. With the recent dip into everyone getting wishing whiplash, I'm telling everyone that I do my best to run a wish-free bar here. I don't like to use the ghosts to fill up staffing positions that can be done just as easily with a real person. You'll earn a wage, plus tips, and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that in a year or whenever the castle next opts to take out that wishing tax on everyone -- you won't end up in bed sick for a few days.

[She draws in a sharp breath through her nose.] Just -- something to think about.

Also, how many doubles of people are left in this place? Are there any left?

I am a hunter, but more along the demon, vampire, ghost line of things. There's a lot of us through out the world, all doing what we can. [She says she is a hunter, even if she's dead back home, because she doesn't think that's something she can just let go.]

[20thcentury]

Oh, lord. We haven't got too many of those. [Well, vampires, yes, but she hasn't met any... and also their demons are aliens or something I guess? Wildstorm Universe is a weird place.]

Must be tense for you here, yeah? With all these vampires around.

[huntersdaughter]

It took some time to get used to, but I've been here almost three years now. It's... it's just difficult to look past sometimes, but I have made some good friends here that I know back home I wouldn't have even given a second chance.

[20thcentury]

[Friends she'll forget as soon as she returns to her own world, Jenny reminds herself. She's suddenly feeling sort of morose, but doesn't want to dump that on this poor woman.]

Good on you, then. At least you're making the best of this place.

[huntersdaughter]

I'm fine being here. I mean, it's got the rough spots, but I'm one of the ones that doesn't have much to go back to.

[20thcentury]

Mm. Same here. Dead and all, you know.

[huntersdaughter]

Yep. Me too.

[20thcentury]

[A small pause. Sort of a moment of silence for this also-dead woman.]

Still ... if it came down to it, if there was a way for everyone to escape this place -- I'd take it, even if it meant I'd have nothing to go back to.

[huntersdaughter]

[She takes in a breath, frowning for a moment.]

I don't think I would. I mean, I can't believe that it'd be all or nothing and there are people here who want to stay - and if I can help keep them safe, while they're here, I'd rather do that then go back to nothing.

[20thcentury]

No. If I make all the efforts I can to get a person out of a burning building, I've done right. I'm not going to stand in there with them if they've got some desire to burn.

[huntersdaughter]

[Jo shrugs.] I died in an explosion, I can't get anymore burned than that.

[20thcentury]

[Well, that's kind of brutal. But Jenny isn't the type to dwell on something like that.]

Me, my expiration date was just up, so to speak.

Either that, or I expended all my special "powers" all at once. Maybe a combination of the two.

[huntersdaughter]

What kind of special powers?

[20thcentury]

To put it shortly, I am electricity.

[huntersdaughter]

How about putting it long... [she frowns.]

Is it dependent on something else or does it just happen?

[20thcentury]

Well, I don't just turn to lightning at random, if that's what you're asking.

[huntersdaughter]

I didn't know that was even a possibility... so that wasn't what I was thinking at all.

[20thcentury]

It isn't. Well, far as I know, anyway.

[She takes a small breath, preparing to rattle some things off.] I can turn to electricity, manipulate electricity, leech electricity ... also overload anything electrical with electricity. There's got to be something electrical in the area for me to draw from, though; I can't just summon it from nowhere. Portable radios, stormclouds, the human brain ... anything works, really. The amount I draw is equal to the amount I'm able to output.

[huntersdaughter]

Are you okay? I mean, is it safe -- for you?

[20thcentury]

Of course. I've been this way long as I can remember. Doesn't cause me any pain or discomfort or anything like that.

[huntersdaughter]

That's good to hear. I just - I've heard some bad things about powers like those.

[20thcentury]

Have you? [She's a little concerned now.] Is that person still here?

[huntersdaughter]

No, but Sam was friends with her for a while. Her name was Elle Bishop. She had that ability - Claire, she used to work at the bar for me, she knew her too.

[20thcentury]

[Elle Bishop... that certainly doesn't sound like an alternate Earth version of herself, so she relaxes a bit.]

I'd like to have met her. It isn't often you hear about somebody having the same skillset as you.
