5th Card (posted Monday morning)
[Filtered to Chimera members + Howl | Dictated]
I know this perhaps a bit forward of me, but I realized I've been here two months now and haven't met many of you yet, or what your powers do, and I suspect I'm probably not the only one. I also have something I'd like to propose to other members of the council. With that in mind, I'd like to call a meeting at, oh... say five o'clock?
Howl, I expect to see you there.
[And Clow will be in the Chimera main room, already ensconced in a chair. There is a nice big teapot out, and a plate of biscuits, because he feels like being properly English about this right now

Yes...well...my own magic is a little harder to quantify. I can cast a variety of spells. In my world our specialties are defined mostly by doctrine, so as a Cabaline I largely work magic through the material world. The spells themselves are based more on extensive symbology. We excel at warding spells, primarily, though have the standard repertoire of light and energy spells. Doctrinally Cabalines are prohibited from using their magic on living people, though...admittedly I have a slightly more than theoretical grasp on necromancy, blood-magic, and compulsions. Additionally, I have some working knowledge of oneiromancy, though it's a largely a lost art.

In my world, magic is also defined in part by school or order. I think you [a quick nod at Phoebe] would find some of the Western orders familiar in their teachings and rituals. I'm... somewhat unique in having trained in more than one school, and having synthesized a new set of 'rules' for manipulating magic myself. My skills are largely in the material realm - shaping energy and matter alike, and changing one into the other. I also inherited a rather stronger than usual talent for divination. [Which is about the understatement of the century, but he doesn't want to explain that he dreams true futures and has no control over it]

Normally, he'd be interested in all of this talk, but he's still too irritated to actually be cooperative.]
I make spells for sale to the public. Useful household things. Not terribly interesting, I'm afraid.
[Which was leaving out the bulk of his magic, really, but he was still feeling petty.]

To sell to non-mages, you mean?

Of course. Selling them to other mages would be a bit silly, don't you think?

[He would know, given he ditched exactly that sort of world, himself.]
It's really not particularly difficult.

I'd be interested in seeing your process sometime, though.

If you want.

I do - though another time, I think.
