[He promised Korra he would ask people to come, so here we go]

Yo. Some cute girl named Korra wants to go up to the mountains on Saturday to train, so she doesn't terrify ducks or something with her powers. So I'll be gone all day since it's a few hours ride.

If any of you wanna tag along or whatever, I won't stop you. Korra sounded excited about the snow up there, so there's that.

[Zelos meanwhile is chilling under a tree near the duckpond, since the roof seemed lame today. He's got his hands behind his head as he rests again the tree, his legs stretched out in front of him. Mostly he seems to be watching things around him, still deciding whether or not he's glad to be back. The ducks are doing their own thing in the pond, though they seem to be evading him, even going out their way to do so and if one steps near it will even hiss at him. Because hey, they still remember him as the dude the tore up the place sparring with Korra.]

Well...

I was always told I was different. That I was the Chosen - ever since I can first remember really.

But it didn't sink in until I was a little older...and I started seeing how different everyone thought I was. Before then, I didn't think about it.

[persequor]

[ Arya looks down at her hands before focusing on him again. ]

Did your parents ever mislike it?

[wilder]

[-- NO BAD QUESTION BAAAD. There's a sharp intake of breath from him, and a pause. He knows why she's asking, so he'll give a nice non-answer]

Your parents are nothing like my parents, Arya.

[persequor]

How do you mean?

[wilder]

[Goddess he'd give a whole lot to get off this topic right now. ]

Your parents love you.

[persequor]

Yours...don't?

[wilder]

[He doesn't answer, instead he'll simply look downcast at the ground and imagine not having this conversation. ]

[persequor]

[ The idea is completely foreign to her. She knows she would disappoint her parents. A lot of days she wonders if her mother would not prefer to have Sansa with her and Arya the stupid pigheaded one who refuses her own name. Arya was always the willful one. The one that frustrated everyone. But she never doubted her parents' love for her. Parents love their children. That's a fact.

Biting her lower lip sharply, Arya also looks down. She regrets ever asking now. Guilt unspools in her chest.

She peeks at Zelos. Unsure what to say, she hesitates before taking his hand in hers. How many times had she seen her mother hold her father's hand? Ned had always smiled at Cat. Nevertheless, she knows Zelos is not her father. Arya holds his hand carefully in case he will pull away or push her away. ]

[wilder]

[He didn't really blame Arya, it had been an innocent question. For anyone else, it'd be easy. He knows most parents love their children- that's how it should be. Stories like his...it'd be better if they didn't exist. Kids needed a loving parent that'll look after them, protect them...everything he didn't have.]

[The feel of the hand shakes him out of his thoughts. She probably feels guilty about this, he thinks to himself. He won't pull away, after a moment of hesitation he'll even return the hand holding- very gently and glance at her]

...Don't worry about it. [There's nothing that could be done to change the past anyway]

Your parents love you a lot, I can tell that much.

[persequor]

Like your sister loves you. And me.

[wilder]

[BABY ;o; ]

Won't give up on that, huh?

[persequor]

Never.

[wilder]

[He smiles a little and pushes the underside of her chin gently with his index finger]

Hm. Then I'm very lucky.

[persequor]

[ She shakes her head. ]

No. You're worth it.

[wilder]

[There's a very soft snort and a smile at that, but he doesn't respond to those words beyond that. But hey at least he's learning not to argue about it all the time...so progress!]

[Instead he'll address what her original concern was]

Your mother found out I have magic while we were in the Dead Zone. [he shrugs] She said magic was thought to be dead, but she didn't seem to care if I had it.

[persequor]

[ Her eyebrows creep closer in a tiny frown. ]

Was that when she said you had to look after me?

[wilder]

[He nods] Right after that.

[persequor]

Mother worries is all. You didn't have to.

[wilder]

[a snort] I know. It was my own choice.

[persequor]

[ Good answer. She tugs playfully on one of his braids. ]

Mayhaps next time you'll trust Nymeria. Wolves are loyal. She wouldn't let anyone in her pack be poisoned or harmed.

[wilder]

Is that your way of saying the direwolf does a better job than me?

[persequor]

[ Teasing: ] Nymeria can tear arms off. Can you?

[wilder]

Sure if I wanted, but that's just unrefined. [He makes a face]
