[Paige nudges her journal open with the end of a paint brush. She has been keeping herself busy by painting a mural on one of her walls. The mural features Piper, Wyatt, Leo, Phoebe, Chris, herself and...Pru. The last portrait isn't easy for her. She has only seen photographs of the eldest Halliwell sister, but it feels wrong to leave her out.

In the background, she has sketched out (roughly) the Halliwell mansion.

Not that anyone can see her handiwork. That really is a shame. She is quite the artist.]

Yep! This place is definitely starting to feel like home. [She sets her paint brush down and tries to wipe off her hands.] Why is paint so hard to remove? I swear, I scrub most of my skin off just trying to get my hands the right color again.

[After a momentary pause, she seems to give up the task.]

This may seem off the wall, but what would you call a great day? It can involve anything. Weather, people, long walks on the beach...

Oh I know, right? It's such a bitch to get off. I don't even really ever need to use nail polish anymore. [She laughs]

What kinda paint do you use?

I wasn't talking about nail polish, but that can be a pain too. Especially if you don't have remover.

At the moment? It's regular wall paint. I'm just using a much smaller brush.

[She laughs] Yeah I meant I get covered in enough paint I don't need nail polish.

Yeah? Oh that's boring. But uh if it's latex or water based it should come off with soap water and some scrubbing. Baby oil works well, too.

Why are you covered in so much paint? [That seems a little weird.]

So I'm told. I'll try the baby oil. [If she can find some.]

I like taking a trip down into town with one of my friends, poking around in some of the shops, taking some photos of the grounds, getting something to eat ... sometimes it's almost like being in New York again.

Oh you lived in New York? That must've been exciting. [Big city, lots to do, etc. etc..] I'm from San Francisco myself.

It is, yeah, never a dull moment. Phoebe told me a lot about San Francisco... It sounds like that's a pretty exciting place, too... Well, at least for you guys!

It is a bit too exciting sometimes. I don't know how much sleep I've lost over...the excitement.

Ooh, what are you painting? As for a great day, I dunno, I just really enjoy hanging out with my best friend. Anything with him usually makes for a good day! And so does painting--I'm an artist myself.

A mural. I really hope I don't have to paint over it. [Because of mistakes.]

Being with friends is great. I haven't had much time for just hanging out. [And she clearly misses it.]

Have you painted anything?

Oh yeah! I paint stuff all the time. Nothing like that though! [he laughs]

You could hang out with me sometime if you wanted. What do you say?

A great day for me is being able to spend it with my sister or my girlfriend.

That's really sweet of you. I don't know if most guys would say that.

I do enjoy being around both of them. Neither of them are here, though, so I miss them a lot.

Well, I don't know if I can fill their shoes [not that she would want to], but I'm always up for keeping someone company.

I do appreciate it. My sister was here briefly, but left not long after I arrived. She is... [a pause] severely mentally ill, and I am her sole caretaker. Taking care of her took up so much of my life, I am not quite sure what to do with myself.

[It's a near thing that Felix doesn't greet her with open familiarity, but this is a new Paige and they're functionally strangers. Would it even be the same, this time around? He'd never find out unless he said something]

I suppose that depends on whether that day occurs here, or back home.

Hm. In general it would be the same in either place. Learning something new and spending time with friends. The difference here is not being on a loss or having the castle otherwise interfere with things, and whether or not those friends I speak of are old ones or new.

I can't say. Knowledge itself is rarely bad. It tends to be more...what people do with knowledge. But if it was distressing or harmful...no...maybe not...
