05 | In which Howl recieves an invitation. [Dictated]
[There's a scuffling noise, as if someone's trying to keep hold of the journal while fiddling around with something else.]
My goodness. Someone needs to be told it's rather rude to nail their invitations to a person's door. I nearly thought the king had managed to track me all the way here.
[There's a pause an a bit of a laugh]
I'll have to work on my royalty-evasion, it seems. I don't suppose anyone knows something about our gracious host? Or whether this will end up being an elaborate trap?
[Howl's not usually the paranoid type, but you can never be too careful when it comes to kings.]

Hmm. That's an interesting possibility... To what end, do you think?

Like a child matching its dolls up with each other, in a sense. Nothing wrong with meeting new people, of course, just that... [viewing this through the lens of "the castle going HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE" is kinda creepy]

[Which ought to make him feel contrary about the whole thing, and would, were he not so curious.]

[Like he's going to pass up the opportunity to dress up.]
