... Another thing I am mercifully glad does not exist in my time. But your gossips are so much less inspired. My detractors like to say I consort with the devil in my spare time.

[mercifully for her country, Elizabeth hasn't much care for that sort of thing. Just that people do what she says when she says it. It's very simple really.]

I guess they don't change very much? Must of heard it for awhile I imagine. But it does make for some interesting illustrations from time to time.

Oh, they get better. [And here, finally, there's a trace of bitterness leaking into his tone.] Photoshop was revolutionary for libel.

Image-editing software. Lets you alter photographs, essentially.

[A pause. His knowledge of history is incomplete at best, and he's not even 100% certain which queen she is, just that she is one.]

Am I going to have to explain a photograph, too?

A photograph is a captured image of a moment in time. If you were to take a photograph of what you see in front of you right now with the technology present in my time, it would be nearly a one-to-one reproduction. An illustration without the illustrator, essentially.

On the whole, they're very useful. Would much rather live in a world with them than one without them.
