Nine Spoons {Dictation}

[For the most part, Jane has been following the fairies today. Some appeared in her room, taking little odds and ends from her drawers, and she got curious enough to follow them out to the lawn where their mini castle has been set up. She's crouched down just outside the fairy ring around it, watching them zip back and forth.

She'd brought her journal on a whim, too - that's where she'd found that lovely invitation, and watching the fairies sparks an idea in her, so she flips the journal open and says,]

It's just a thought, but does anyone think that the arrival of these, erm, "fairy folk", I suppose you'd call them, has anything to do with these funny invitations?

[She takes a breath as if she's about to say more, but then she gasps.]

Oh! Do be careful, that looks awfully heavy!

[You can hear footsteps in the grass as she leaves her journal. If you come down to the lawn, you might see Jane carrying jars of jam to and from the entrance of the castle for the fairies, and yes, she is very careful not to damage the fairy rings.]

[She passes by the journal just as she hears you, so she scoops it up and takes it with her.]

Hoo hoo! They are a bit mischievous, that's true, but they seem to mean well. Why, if they hadn't tried to snitch some of my things, I wouldn't have found the nifty castle they're building! I think it might be to scale, but I'm not well-versed enough in architecture to say for sure.

They certainly are! It's made of odds and ends from outside, you should see it!

I think I'll pass. I'm about done with outside for a while. I'll take your word on it.

[Aw, what a shame.]

Well, if you're sure, then. Can I assume you won't be attending the masquerade, either?

[Tsuna's passing through the lobby, watching all the fairy activity curiously when Jane passes by him with a jar of jelly.]

Oh, hey, Jane... san?

[Where... is she taking that jar of jelly ?_?]

[Jane flashes Tsuna a grin as she's led back outside by the fairies.]

Hello Tsuna! How are you today?

[not_mafia]

[He follows her.]

I'm alright, but what are you doing?

[cyan_maid]

Oh, um...[Jane looks to the mini castle.] Helping the fairies. As strange as they are, they should really be more careful carrying things that are heavy for them. [She holds up the jam.] This is a perfect example of that.

[not_mafia]

Huh? But why do they...

[He hasn't seen the little castle until now, so when he does, his eyes widen.]

Eh...! What are they making??

[cyan_maid]

I'm not sure! Maybe they would like to eat jam. It's pretty tasty.

[Aw that reaction! Jane grins.]

It looks like a copy of Paradisa!

Dictated - Let's try that again

Oh, almost definitely.

[She's toting the journal around with her now.]

Hm, it IS a fairly obvious deduction, isn't it? Perhaps they are servants of this Autumn King.

Of course! Even if you didn't know anything about the Fair Folk, you could still notice these fairies show up soon after the invitations arrived. Hard to believe that's just a coincidence -- especially in a place like Paradisa.

And those that have done their research would know that fairies are very attune to the seasons. In fact, the Fair Folk in my world hold seasonal courts!

Ah - well, to tell the truth, I hadn't really noticed anything when the invitations arrived, and I'm not well-versed in, erm, fairy lore...

Oh. [Umm... This suddenly got awkward.]

Well, don't sweat it. Fairies are good at hiding when they don't want to be seen, and quite frankly, their lore varies so much it can sometimes be more of a hinderance than an asset.

[cyan_maid]

Really? [She sounds a little disappointed.] I suppose I'll have to ask them directly to know about them...

[dictated]

I'm not sure I believe in coincidences as strong as that, Miss Jane!

You can say, sure, maybe the castle would be into playing a kind of practical prank like that, pulling the down over our eyes with unrelated coincidences ... No way!

... I should observe the behaviors of these fairies a little closer. Have they been gentlemanly to you so far? It's not every day primates are smaller than I am, hey?

Oh, they've been fine, Yuuya! Not gentlemanly so much as sweet, though.

[She pauses.] Er, how could they be smaller than you? Last I remember, you were definitely larger than a fairy! [She thinks you're kidding.]

[whathedoves]

Hm?

[There are a few ... absentminded humming noises, as if Yuuya has just completely forgotten that Jane has never seen him as a bird (he probably hasn't).]

Of course, I've always been much larger than a fairy! I'm pretty tall, anyway!

But, for a bird, looking up during all my conversations is giving me a real crick in the neck!
